CHAPTER 27 – TIME OUT OF JOINTEdit

scene 1 - A Day at the Race Against Time

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I don't mean to question Alistair...

...but a crisis like this is hardly time to bring in a new recruit. Do you think you can put your training plans on hold to join me?]

[Travel to Derby Day]

[This scene is found in Chapter 27 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Derby Day]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

My readings are highly irregular in this area but I couldn't get enough information from looking at the data remotely.

Quincy

Megan was here recently but she insisted that nothing was out of the ordinary.

Quincy

Thanks for coming along as backup. I must say, I am not entirely sure what to expect.

Eleanor

  • Gasp!*

Quincy

ELEANOR???

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Blimey! That was Eleanor, wasn't it?!

Quincy

I don't understand!

Quincy

I mean, considering the havoc Eleanor has caused, of course her presence would cause the unusual readings I saw.

Quincy

I'm rather ashamed I hadn't deduced this on my own!

Quincy

But surely Megan should have been able to figure it out when she searched this place.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Something's just not right.

I'm going to run some analyses of our scans back at my workshop.

scene 2 - There's Something About Megan

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I've made some improvements to the scanner!

Surely Megan will better be able to detect if Eleanor is within her proximity. I'm on my way to share the new device with her!]

[Return to Beijing Market]

[This scene is found in Chapter 3 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Beijing Market]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Hmm...that's strange.

Quincy

I'd asked Megan to meet me here but there are no signs of her anywhere.

Quincy

It's not like Megan to be tardy.

Quincy

Maybe some progress in her search for Eleanor is keeping her!

Quincy

Let's give her a bit.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Oh dear, I don't recall Megan ever standing me up when we've agreed to meet.

Quincy

Do you think she's okay?

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I'm sure she is just preoccupied with her pursuit of Eleanor!

It would be nice to spend some time with Megan again--but clearly mending this fissure in time is a higher priority for us both!

scene 3 - Get Thee to a Waterfront

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Sudden instances of rift activity are occurring all throughout Denmark!

I'm afraid Enrique's induction will need to be thrown on the fast track. I'll need the two of you to act at once!

[Travel to Nyhavn Waterfront]

[This scene is found in Chapter 27 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Nyhavn Waterfront]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I don't see why Alistair doesn't give you more credit.

Enrique

After all, you've prepared me plenty to take on a series of mysterious and unexplainable rifts in Denmark.

Enrique

Shall we get to work?

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Hmm...do you smell that?

Enrique

Perhaps it's just strange vapors from the rifts but it smells like something is rotten in the state of Denmark!

Enrique

But I think you'll agree based on my work here that I'm ready to take on even the Time Society's top-priority tasks.

Enrique

As the quick learner that I am, of course, this shouldn't be a surprise.

Enrique

But, certainly, I wouldn't have made it this far without my amazing mentor!

Enrique

Where should we go to celebrate?

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I don't understand!

Who could be causing these rifts? My instinct tells me it's related to Eleanor, but I just don't see the connection here!

scene 4 - Broken-Down Palace

intro [in garden]

Enrique

I'd love to go on another assignment with you!

But I'm afraid I have a couple small personal matters to attend to first. Let's agree to rendezvous back in your garden in a few!

[Travel to Forgotten Palace Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 27 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Forgotten Palace Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

It's good to know your schedule is not heavily bogged down by your new trainee.

Richard

The sooner we clean up this mess that Eleanor created...

Richard

...the sooner I can go back to getting my revenge on--

Richard

I mean!...the sooner we can bring that time villain Cleopatra to justice!

Richard

Don't you agree???

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Hey Richard! I heard you could use a hand with fixing up this palace!

Richard

Actually Lulu, we've already taken care of it.

Richard

Besides, I'm sure you'd much rather be pruning your daisies than patching up this dusty chamber.

Lulu

Oh! Well...umm...I was thinking that with ol' Eleanor gone that I could pitch in a little more.

Lulu

What do you say, Richard?

outro [back in garden]

Richard

Hmm...how odd.

Maybe Lulu has finally learned to take her place in the Time Society seriously. Should I be questioning why?

scene 5- A Knight to Forget

intro [in garden]

Alistair

We'll need to fill Enrique in on the whole Eleanor situation.

I wish I didn't have to speak ill of an old friend but Enrique needs to understand what's put the Time Society on high alert.

[Return to Sherwood Forest Hideout]

[This scene is found in Chapter 25 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Sherwood Forest Hideout]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Hello, friends! I wasn't expecting to see you here!

Alistair

As a matter of fact, Enrique, I'm glad we've found you in such a clandestine setting.

Alistair

We have some important information to share with you that will help you understand the urgency of your upcoming tasks.

Enrique

Ah! Do you mean to tell me of how Eleanor went back in time to save an Arthurian knight...

Enrique

...and instead caused a fissure in time and space which we must now repair as quickly as possible?

Alistair

...

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

...I am terribly sorry for the loss of your friend the knight, and for what's become of Eleanor as well.

Enrique

Just out of curiosity, however, what was the knight's name?

Alistair

His name was Sir Geoffrey and he was a noble knight indeed.

Enrique

Hmm...It's as I suspected.

Enrique

Where I come from, we're still quite familiar with the tales of Camelot.

Enrique

I've heard of the legends of many Arthurian knights--Lancelot, Gawain, and not-so-brave Sir Robin.

Enrique

But the tales of King Arthur's Round Table make no mention of Sir Geoffrey.

Enrique

Is it possible he has been erased from history vis-a-vis the fissure in time?

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

What Enrique suggested is quite possible.

A tragedy for the history books, but possible nonetheless. Regrettably, I can't see this becoming a happy ending for Eleanor any time soon.

scene 6 - Thorough Bread

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I think I've got it!

Eleanor's been a slippery target, considering her expertise as a Time Agent, but I think I've figured out our next move.

[Travel to Danish Bakery]

[This scene is found in Chapter 27 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Danish Bakery]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

If we can distract Eleanor long enough to keep her in one place for more than a few seconds...

Quincy

...I've figured out a way to erase all of her entry data so that she'll no longer have access to the Time Society's resources.

Quincy

If we sever those connections, none of our devices will respond to Eleanor's time signature...

Quincy

...and there will be no way for her to time travel!

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

I don't see how you could be thinking of pastries during this amazing strategic breakthrough!

Quincy

I'll admit, it's a little harsher than the temporary suspension of duties that Alistair had envisioned.

Quincy

But it's necessary for the greater good!

Quincy

If Eleanor proves she can be trusted once more, we can reinstate her with new access codes in the future.

Quincy

At least I think that's still possible...

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

You went out for delicious pastries without me?

Perhaps you may not have noticed, but I have quite the sweet tooth! You and I will have to revisit that bakery together sometime!

scene 7 - Dillydally Circus

intro [in garden]

Megan

Umm...no...

I haven't been able to track down Eleanor yet. Do you think she might have gone back to England? Maybe we should investigate the paradox that's turned up there.

[Travel to Carnaby Street Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 27 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Carnaby Street Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

You say Quincy's developed some additional gadgets to help me track Eleanor down?

Megan

That's umm...that's very sweet of him to go out of his way to help me!

Megan

Well, this doesn't really seem like the sort of place we'd find Eleanor.

Megan

But we should probably fix this paradox anyway.

Megan

Don't you agree?

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Oh dear, you say there are strange rifts occurring in Denmark as well?

Megan

I suppose I have been so...umm...caught up in my pursuit of Eleanor that I have not been keeping up with the status of everyone else's tasks.

Megan

You don't suppose that Cleopatra is responsible for what's happened in Denmark, do you?

Megan

We certainly can't forget that she is still on the loose!

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Who does Alistair think is responsible?

Perhaps you could share my theory the next time you see him? I don't want us to lose sight of the Time Society's real enemies!

CHAPTER 28 – DENMARK’S THE SPOTEdit

scene 1 - May the Norse Be with You

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I just don't understand.

Is there something I am missing? Perhaps a fresh pair of eyes like yours could help.

[Travel to Viking Ship]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Viking Ship]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

You see, I've been searching and searching for the cause of these rifts in Denmark.

Alistair

Unlike the sort of sabotage we've seen from Cleopatra, they seem to be spread amongst not only various places in Denmark...

Alistair

...but throughout the very history of the Danes!

Alistair

A disturbance so targeted, yet broad in scope, could only be orchestrated by someone with a very high-level of experience manipulating time.

Alistair

But who?

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

You're quite right to wonder if this is all just another case of the odd happenings resulting from Eleanor trying to reverse Geoffrey's fate.

Alistair

But the strange thing is that all the data contradicts such a connection.

Alistair

Perhaps it is no coincidence just how contradictory the two events are!

Alistair

You seem confused.

Alistair

Just continue to focus on preparing Enrique for his induction...

Alistair

... and let me worry about the numerous threats to the integrity of time and space.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I should remind you.

Enrique's official trials are coming up. And while I'm sure you've done a stellar job in training him thus far, a few more practice rounds won't hurt.

scene 2 - The Supposium

intro [in garden]

Enrique

I've always wanted to visit Ancient Greece!

What's the occasion? To what do I owe this wonderful surprise trip?

[Travel to Greek Temple Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Greek Temple Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Ah-ha! I see that you've surprised me with the delights of more paradox practice.

Enrique

I'm happy to oblige, but I do wish you wouldn't worry so much about my upcoming performance review.

Enrique

You've already gone above and beyond as a mentor, such that I can't possibly not pass!

Enrique

I'm ready if you are!

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Hmm...perhaps I am looking into things too deeply...

Enrique

But do you ever wonder how these odds and ends wind up together?

Enrique

These things that get shifted around from disturbances in the space-time continuum.

Enrique

Do you think there's more to learn about how and where they land?

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

You're right! How silly of me.

Of course the pieces of time debris arrive at their final destinations at random! Well, that's enough philosophizing for me!

scene 3 - Lunar Eclipse of the Heart

intro [in garden]

Megan

Thanks for looking into my hunch.

Did you find any clues linking Cleopatra to the rifts in Denmark?

[Return to Pyramid of the Moon]

[This scene is found in Chapter 21 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Pyramid of the Moon]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

That IS what you were doing back in Ancient Greece, right?

Megan

After all, Cleopatra was of Greek descent, despite being known throughout history as an Egyptian ruler.

Megan

I know I am supposed to be hunting down Eleanor so we can stop her from further disrupting time...

Megan

...but I couldn't help but check out a few of Cleopatra's known hideouts along the way.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Well, it was worth a shot, wasn't it?

Megan

What do you mean I have been acting strangely?

Megan

Does Quincy think so???

Megan

No! I DON'T have a problem with being the one who has to hunt down Eleanor, a long-respected and distinguished member of the Time Society...

Megan

...who broke the rules in the name of love so she could have a chance at true personal happiness...

Megan

...and whose friends have since turned on her and treated her like a criminal!

Megan

Of COURSE not!

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Umm...sorry. I didn't mean to get so defensive.

Okay, so perhaps I do feel awful about all that's become of Eleanor. Don't tell Quincy I've been procrastinating? Please?

scene 4 - It's Easy Being Greenland

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I'll be accompanying you on this mission.

While holding a series of trials to officially induct a new recruit was Eleanor's policy, that doesn't mean it wasn't a sound one.

[Travel to Greenland Village]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Greenland Village]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I'm ready to begin whenever you are, Alistair!

Alistair

Well then, Enrique. I trust that you will be able to patch up this rift...

Alistair

...taking care not to receive too much help from your mentor? Hmm?

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Splendid!

Alistair

Well done, Enrique!

Enrique

Thank you, Alistair!

Enrique

Of course, I owe it all to my spectacular mentor here, for teaching me everything I know about mending time rifts.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Don't be so modest!

I may be a beacon of confidence but our many practice runs are certainly not to be devalued. Thank you for being so wonderful!

scene 5 - Hole-y Roman Empire

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Enrique's next trial awaits!

But I trust you'll understand why I'd like him to tackle one on his own. Why don't you see if the others could use your help in the meantime?]

[Travel to Roman Colosseum Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Roman Colosseum Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

Thank goodness those blasted floodwaters seem to have all resided.

Richard

The Colosseum seems to be back to normal--almost.

Richard

Just as soon as we take care of this paradox...

Richard

...it'll be as if Eleanor's little act of selfishness never turned Rome into a marshland at all!

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

Another job well-done by the Time Society, I suppose.

Richard

I don't mean to sound as if I have relapsed back into my rather embarrassing emotional low-point or anything...

Richard

But do you ever wonder how much of our work is simply cleaning up the problems that our own Society created?

Richard

We are supposed to be the valiant preservers of history but at times--

Richard

Well, at times, does it not seem to you that we are merely trying to sweep our own messes under the rugs, before history turns into catastrophe?

outro [back in garden]

Richard

I suppose there's a reason I've never been asked to mentor a new inductee.

Bravo to you for being up to the task.

scene 6 – Through the Cooking Glass

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Well if Cleopatra's not using that swanky kitchen...

I'm certainly not going to let it go to waste! Are you coming, Honey???

[Return to Manhattan Kitchen]

[This scene is found in Chapter 24 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Manhattan Kitchen]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

I was just thinking!

Lulu

Maybe Cleopatra left behind some kind of clue here about where she was planning to set up her next hideout.

Lulu

What do you say we comb this place for more info, Darling?

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Hmm...Lots of things left behind...

Lulu

But I can't tell if any of them are clues!

Lulu

I know the others are worried about all kinds of crazy weather things, like snowing in Egypt and flooding in Rome...

Lulu

But it doesn't seem right that we let Cleopatra just get away!

Lulu

Especially not if Richard is left dwelling on her.

Lulu

The sooner he buries her back in that Egyptian tomb, the sooner he can be happy again and move on!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

I'm not going to give up on this case!

But don't mention it to Richard--okay Sweet Pea? He doesn't need to be reminded of that crusty old tart Cleopatra! No way!

scene 7 - Lake It or Leave It

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I'm impressed by how well you've trained Enrique!

I think it's time for him to meet our chief technologist. Don't you?]

[Travel to Dragon Lake]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Dragon Lake]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

This is beyond alarming!

Quincy

I set the Time Machine's course for one of the rifts in Denmark and somehow we wound up back in feudal Japan!

Quincy

This is not good. Not good at all.

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Actually, I believe there's nothing to worry about here!

Enrique

It may look like we are in Japan, but this is actually just part of a delightful Danish amusement park!

Quincy

How are you so sure? I, for one, and NOT amused.

Enrique

Of course I'm sure! I never make a statement that I don't feel confident about!

Quincy

And just who might you be?

Enrique

I'm Enrique Manners! Surely you must know that our friend here has been training me to become the newest Agent of the Time Society!

Quincy

Oh, right. Of course. New recruit.

Quincy

Well, it's nice that we're boosting our staffing and all...

Quincy

...but there's much too much work to be done with nabbing Eleanor and mending the crack in time.

Quincy

So now that we've sorted this rift in...Denmark...I'll be getting on with all my other tasks.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

What an funny sort of man!

Is he always in such a hurry? I would think that an organization with possession of a Time Machine would not be so obsessed with scheduling!

CHAPTER 29 – WHAT HAPPENED IN VEGASEdit

scene 1 - To Be or Not to Be Inducted

intro [in garden]

Alistair

The rifts in Denmark are almost entirely sealed.

Resolving this paradoxical aftereffect should cover the last of the temporal abnormalities. Why don't you bring Enrique along?

[Travel to Nyhavn Waterfront Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 29 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Nyhavn Waterfront Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

Surprise!!!

Alistair

Reconciling this paradox will be Enrique's final trial!

Enrique

A pop quiz! Oh Alistair, how cheeky of you.

Enrique

But I do believe that I've been more than well prepared for this and beyond ready.

Enrique

And now, I shall prove it!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Absolutely wonderful work, Enrique! And welcome to the Time Society!

Alistair

I always knew a sharp lad like you would one day make a fine Time Agent.

Enrique

Well Alistair, I have you to thank for that opportunity and my lovely mentor here for teaching me the necessary skills!

Enrique

And now...I believe a celebration is in order!

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Enrique is right.

A celebration is in order. Not only for him, though, because you ought to be congratulated as well!

scene 2 - Five-Card Stud

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I've found just the place for a little bit of joviality.

I always thought that Vegas could use a bit of tidying up anyway. You go on along and enjoy yourself!

[Travel to Sands of Time Casino]

[This scene is found in Chapter 29 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Sands of Time Casino]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

My new friends! It is an absolute pleasure to meet each and every one of you.

Lulu

Welcome to the Time Society, Enrique!]

Megan

We sure are glad to have you!

Richard

It's certainly nice to have someone around whose idea of a good time is something other than reshaping hats!

Enrique

I'm looking forward to working with you all.

Enrique

But I think that's enough business talk for tonight, is it not?

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Hey! I never did learn how to play cards.

Lulu

Do I win if the pictures on each of my cards is different?

Richard

Are they in a numerical sequence?

Lulu

Umm, one of them doesn't have a number. It has the letter J on it.

Lulu

Do I win because I got a special letter card?!

Richard

...

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

It's so nice to finally have faces to go with names.

Though I wonder why that funny bespectacled guy, Quincy, didn't turn up. It seemed as though Megan was looking for him all evening...

scene 3 - A Passage in India

intro [in garden]

Quincy

Where is everyone???

Never mind! There are several urgent temporal abnormalities that need to be investigated right away! We're going to need to split up.

[Return to Kinari Bazaar]

[This scene is found in Chapter 12 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Kinari Bazaar]

part 1 [before scene]

Eleanor

Get back here, you treacherous minx!!!

Eleanor

Oh! I didn't mean YOU of course.

Eleanor

But I happen to be in hot pursuit of that duplicitous Cleopatra!

Eleanor

If you're going to interrogate me, then you better keep at my pace!

part 2 [after scene]

Eleanor

I'll have you know that I am not the type to allow myself to dissolve away in a sea of grief.

Eleanor

I'm determined to save my Geoffrey and there is nothing you can do to stop me.

Eleanor

As a matter of fact, this happens to be exactly moments after Cleopatra abandoned Richard in Varanasi.

Eleanor

Naturally, her first attempt at time travel spat her out here. She couldn't even make it out of India!

Eleanor

If I can catch her now, it will erase ALL of Cleopatra's despicable wrongdoings and restore the proper course of history!

Eleanor

Don't you get it? I AM acting out of my duty to protect the integrity of time!

Eleanor

That is, I would be if you weren't slowing me down...

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I don't understand!

Just how is Eleanor managing to stay half a step out of our grasp every time?

scene 4 - The Death of the Party

intro [in garden]

Enrique

The rest of the team has been positively fantastic company.

But a celebration of my induction simply did not seem complete without you. I'm so glad you've returned!

[Travel to The Cancanning Crystalettes]

[This scene is found in Chapter 29 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in The Cancanning Crystalettes]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Ah, and I see that you've manage to hunt down our tardy techie! Bravo!

Quincy

Umm...tardy to what, exactly?

Alistair

We're celebrating in honor of our new inductee.

Alistair

I thought the team could use a spot of jubilation, after all we've been through as of late, and--

Quincy

I beg your pardon, Alistair, but--

Richard

Enough with the dreary speeches, you sourpusses! Can't you see that some of us are here to enjoy a show?

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Isn't this such a marvelous time?

Quincy

NO! It is most definitely NOT a marvelous time!

Quincy

There is a crack in the very fabric of space and time that is threatening to pull us all into an alternate timeline.

Quincy

The future of mankind is hinging on *us* being able to stop that crack from spreading.

Quincy

And the very cause of this crack is a veteran Time Agent who--SOMEHOW--manages to keep evading our capture.

Quincy

I'm sorry that Geoffrey died, and I understand that you're all trying to cope in different ways.

Quincy

But those ways simply CANNOT stand in the way of the fact that at this very instant, we need to do our jobs!!!

Megan

  • Gasp*

outro [back in garden]

Megan

I've never heard such harshness coming from Quincy before.

I know our work is very important to him but...is it more important to him than compassion? Or love?

scene 5 - Heart of Starkness

intro [in garden]

Megan

Quincy says he'd like a word with me.

I hope we'll be able to talk about his...outburst. I don't like the idea that Quincy had all that bottled-up frustration and never thought to open up to me.

[Return to Yucatan Cenote]

[This scene is found in Chapter 21 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Yucatan Cenote]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Hello, Megan.

Megan

Hello, Quincy dear!

Quincy

Is there anything you wish to tell me?

Megan

Say, friend. Perhaps you could give Quincy and I a moment of privacy?

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Yes, Quincy, I KNOW you're just trying to do your job. We're all trying to do our jobs as best we can!

Quincy

Well, it doesn't exactly seem that there's been much of a sense of urgency to catch Eleanor before she does something else abominably irrational.

Megan

For pity's sake, Quincy! Her beloved died in her arms after saving her from danger!

Megan

If something happened to me, would you not also want to do everything in your power to protect me from a horrible fate?

Quincy

Are you saying you've been taking Eleanor's side? Blimey, Megan!--Do you know where she is???

Megan

I didn't say that, Quincy, and that is entirely besides the point!!!

outro [back in garden]

Megan

  • Sniffle*

That's for accompanying me...but--*sniffle*--I think I'd like to be alone for a little while if you don't mind.

scene 6 - Project Runaway

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Quincy is right, I'm afraid.

It's been painfully challenging to fill Eleanor's role as a leader in her absence and I may not have been doing the best job.

[Travel to Backstage Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 29 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Backstage Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

I know your sense of adventure is what drew you to the Time Society.

Alistair

But as you know by now, there's a much more difficult duty that we share as Time Agents.

Alistair

As a Time Agent, we'll see bad things happen to good people, and we're forbidden to prevent them.

Alistair

The hardest part is not that we're powerless in these situations but that we have a power we simply cannot use.

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

It may not have been the best plan in hindsight...

Alistair

But my goal was to prevent you from facing these difficult and painful judgment calls.

Alistair

In the grand scheme of things, you've not been with us for very long and I didn't want your adventuresome spark to go dark.

Alistair

I asked you to tutor Enrique thinking I could protect you from all this sad business.

Alistair

But I should have known you'd continue to help the others as well.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I suppose this changes nothing then.

Other than that now, with Enrique fully inducted, we should all turn our attention towards finding Eleanor.

scene 7 - Ride and Seek

intro [in garden]

Enrique

I may be a Time Agent now...

...but I haven't lost my knack for covert operations. Perhaps I can be of help?

[Travel to Limousine Ride]

[This scene is found in Chapter 29 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Limousine Ride]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I've never met Eleanor in person, which means she has most certainly not met me.

Enrique

I know that she is grieving the loss of her loved one...

Enrique

...and I have been known to make myself a very sturdy shoulder to cry on!

Enrique

Perhaps I could present myself to her as a sympathetic stranger?

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Ah yes, of course.

Enrique

You're quite right that she's unlikely to be much of a conversationalist while she is on the run.

Enrique

But that doesn't mean she can't be followed!

Enrique

My promotion may have stemmed partially due to Alistair's desire to protect you from more somber missions...

Enrique

...but I am determined to prove to everyone that I am more than just a mere distraction!

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

You're so sweet to worry about me.

But you shouldn't! I'll be in hot pursuit of Eleanor in no time.

CHAPTER 30 – WHAT STAYED IN VEGASEdit

scene 1 - Rocky Road

intro [in garden]

Enrique

You know I can't resist a sweet treat!

Let's find somewhere lovely to catch up! Perhaps you can even bring Quincy--He seems like he could use a little refreshment.

[Travel to Ice Cream Parlor]

[This scene is found in Chapter 30 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Ice Cream Parlor]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I've been tailing Eleanor and following what is most certainly going to be a useful lead.

Enrique

Did you know she talks aloud to herself quite a bit?

Enrique

Even in her sleep!

Quincy

Remind me--precisely why has this meeting been called?

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

I can't stress any further how much the phrase *we're losing time* is relevant here!

Enrique

Patience, dear Quincy! There are most certainly a few tricks up Eleanor's sleeve.

Enrique

I know misbehaving when I see it, and Eleanor is certainly up to no good.

Enrique

I'd like to gather some more data to be absolutely certain before I make any formal accusations...

Enrique

...but it sounds as if Eleanor really ought to be reeled in before things get too out of hand.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

That didn't seem like much of a progress report, did it?

Would you be so kind as to let me know when Enrique has some *useful* information?

scene 2 - A Dish Best Served Cold

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Enrique's deduced the culprit behind those mysterious Danish rifts.

I have my own suspicions...Though at this point I am unsure of whether I'd rather be proven right or wrong.

[Return to Greenland Village]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Greenland Village]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I've managed to make a few friends throughout Danish history.

Enrique

No matter how many places I go, I find it charming the way the locals love to talk about strange happenings in their part of town.

Enrique

And as a result, I've gathered enough testimony to conclude...

Enrique

...that it was ELEANOR who caused the mysterious rifts!

Alistair

Oh dear...!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Sadly, I had a feeling the rifts had to do with Eleanor...Though it was nothing but a hunch.

Alistair

It seems that she will stop at nothing to try to bring Geoffrey back into the world.

Alistair

But why the rifts in Denmark? Were they merely to divert attention?

Alistair

The laws of the Society she had devoted so much of her life to upholding--all that seems forgotten now.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

I never did like being an informant of bad news.

Let's go somewhere a little less frosty next time to try to cheer ourselves up.

scene 3 - Casino Morale

intro [in garden]

Megan

I think you should try your hand at the card tables.

I'd rather not go with you because...umm...I don't particularly care for games of chance. Good luck.

[Travel to Vegas Casino Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 30 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Vegas Casino Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Eleanor

And why is it that of all the points in time and space, you continually cross mine?

Eleanor

Haven't you forgotten that I am determined to lock Cleopatra back in her tomb...

Eleanor

...and that such a critical, history-saving task requires my not getting distracted by your petty questions???

part 2 [after scene]

Eleanor

Well, I suppose there is no point in being dishonest with you.

Eleanor

As a matter of fact, it was *I* who caused those rifts in Denmark.

Eleanor

You lot were getting in the way of my plans, and I knew a disturbance like that would draw your attentions away from me.

Eleanor

When I dispose of Cleopatra, you'll see that my actions along the way were duly justified.

Eleanor

I've already lost my knight in shining armor.

Eleanor

If I don't do what's in my power to try to save him, what hope do I have left for a bright future?

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Eleanor talks in such riddles, even to herself.

I've observed that quite a bit. It's as if she's trying to convince herself that her actions are justified. But if you ask me, she doesn't really believe it.

scene 4 - Word on the Strip

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I'm not usually the type to pull rank.

But seeing as we are on high alert, any signs of Eleanor are to be reported to myself right away. Can I count on you?

[Travel to Las Vegas Strip]

[This scene is found in Chapter 30 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Las Vegas Strip]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

So if you say you've run into Eleanor...

Richard

...and she's clearly in a state where she should not be left unattended...

Richard

...why are you coming to me for advice instead of turning her right in to ol' Alistair?

Richard

If you ask me, Eleanor's been terribly selfish. And don't believe that whole *stopping Cleopatra will save the course of history* bit for a second!

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

Might I remind you that in another lifetime, I spent an *intimate* amount of time with Eleanor.

Richard

She's quite clever at twisting things to convince you that she's the one who's in the right. Even when she's entirely wrong.

Eleanor

Ahem. I believe I owe you an apology, Richard.

Eleanor

I've been thinking a lot lately of how one happening leads to another.

Eleanor

If I had not been so fleeting in my romantic dalliances in the past, well...

Eleanor

...perhaps you wouldn't have responded with your terrible decision to retaliate via your romp with Cleopatra!

Richard

Yes, but you don't see me turning back the clock just to erase my own mistakes, do you?

outro [back in garden]

Richard

That was downright out of character!

I do worry that Eleanor is willing to take any risk that she deems necessary at this point. As dull as this sounds, you should follow-up with Alistair on these latest events.

scene 5 - Talk is Jeep

intro [in garden]

Lulu

You look confused, Honey.

But I promise, when it comes to recapping the tangled web of our colleagues past romances, your chum Lulu has the answers!

[Travel to Manila Jeepney Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 30 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Manila Jeepney Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

I guess it all happened just as you'd been recruited!

Lulu

Eleanor and Richard...wasn't that an awful disaster waiting to happen?

Lulu

Surely you must know by now that the only reason Richard began his sordid affair with Cleopatra...

Lulu

...was because he took exception to Eleanor's moonlit gondola ride with Casanova!

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

It's no wonder she's regretting that choice now. Eleanor and Casanova led to Richard and Cleopatra...

Lulu

...which led to Cleopatra learning how to booby-trap the Time Machine.

Lulu

As much as I adore a good story, remembering all this does make me sad.

Lulu

Whatever do you suppose caused Richard to seek solace in that creepy old tomb?

Lulu

He should never have needed to go to such extremes to find someone who cares about him.

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

Richard is quite charming.

And handsome! He deserves someone who appreciates the real him in a deeper and more meaningful way!

scene 6 - Tombsday

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Well, love, I'm afraid we're going to have to get our hands dirty.

Eleanor thinks that preventing Cleopatra from leaving her tomb will somehow prevent Geoffrey's death from happening. As I understand it, that's not how this time-traveling bit works.

[Return to Egyptian Tomb]

[This scene is found in Chapter 6 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Egyptian Tomb]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Well isn't this...cozy...

Quincy

I've got the trap all planned out this time.

Quincy

I shall hide with the equipment while you engage Eleanor in prolonged conversation.

Quincy

Talk about the weather when she turns up. Or something! I don't know!

Quincy

Just make sure I have enough time to purge her time signature from our database of access codes.

Enrique

It's a good thing we're the ones handling the conversation bit--Right, mentor?

part 2 [after scene]

Eleanor

Where are you, you miserable Egyptian tart...?

Enrique

Ah, if it's not the high-minded and exalted Eleanor Lansing Purlieu.

Eleanor

...

Enrique

Enrique Manners! The Time Society's newest recruit. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance.

Eleanor

Newest recruit? And what exactly are a couple of amateur Time Agents doing here?

Eleanor

I was hoping I would be able to do this quietly--

Enrique

And BURY the evidence???

Eleanor

This sarcophagus is already so conveniently in place...Why let it go to waste?

Eleanor

I'm going to have to ask you two to leave me to my plans...And you really shouldn't ask what those plans are if you want to keep your careers!

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

We've done it!!!

I was able to start the process of erasing the Eleanor's entry data from our systems. It will take a few moments to complete, but finally we've bested her!

scene 7 - Come Cry With Me

intro [in garden]

Quincy

Eleanor's entry data has been erased.

Her access to time travel will cease completely! That is, unless she knows about--Er, nevermind! No one knows about the exceptions!

[Travel to Royal Crown Hotel]

[This scene is found in Chapter 30 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Royal Crown Hotel]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

I'm very sorry, old colleague, but it's time to end these shenanigans and come to terms with the facts, sad though they are.

Eleanor

Hello, Alistair. As an old friend, you must know how much I despise being patronized.

Eleanor

It's not exactly something I'm willing to stick around for, so--

Eleanor

What nonsense is this??? Why can't I open the Time Machine???

Eleanor

What have you done???

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

I'm sorry, Eleanor, but as you're well aware, your choices of late have forced me to take disciplinary action.

Eleanor

!!!

Alistair

Therefore, you are suspended from the Time Society and disallowed use of any time traveling technology until further notice.

Eleanor

But...I've spent so much of my life devoted to the Time Society.

Eleanor

Do you expect me to stay here...in a city of artificial, miniaturized replicas of the grand wonders I once could travel to?

Eleanor

  • Sob*

Alistair

Good-bye, Eleanor. I know nothing I say can change things for you now.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Finally. With a little more work, history shall be repaired.

But one question still remains: Did Eleanor do it? Did she carry out her plan to erase Cleopatra's actions from time...for good?

CHAPTER 31 – KENYA DIG IT?Edit

scene 1 -  Trekkin' Donkey

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I think that after that whole ordeal...

...we could all use a holiday. Some time to take in a bit of nature, perhaps? What do you say?

[Travel to Lamu Town]

[This scene is found in Chapter 31 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Lamu Town]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

How do you do, team!

Alistair

I know we've had some sullen business as of late, and your stellar professionalism did not go unnoticed.

Alistair

Therefore, to show my gratitude on behalf of the Time Society, I'm treating you all to a leisurely African Safari!

Alistair

I have just a small nagging matter of paperwork to finish off, and then safariing we will go!

Alistair

Why don't you gather together the necessary supplies in the meantime?

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Umm...Have any of you seen Quincy? Is he coming on the safari?

Richard

Why is it that whenever something emotionally draining happens to us...

Richard

Alistair immediately tries to muddle it out with some daft team-building retreat?

Richard

Does he think that we are as easily distracted as small schoolchildren?

Lulu

Oh goodie, a safari! I've always wanted to see a baby dolphin in real life!

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

I know Alistair is a sensitive chap.

Which is why his chipper demeanor immediately following a rough patch with an old friend is not at all believable. He's more upset than he's letting on, and we should show our support.

scene 2 - The House of Dearth

intro [in garden]

Enrique

I've got quite the knack for reading people, you know.

And I can understand why, as a leader, Alistair thinks he's got to put on a brave face. But it's perfectly understandable if he's upset.

[Return to Time Manor]

[This scene is found in Chapter 1 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Time Manor in Flashlight Mode]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Now, here's a mystery I'll admit I don't have the answer to:

Enrique

Who has shut off all the lights?

Enrique

Alistair? Are you here, ol' mate???

Enrique

Hmm...We better have a look around.

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Everything still seems to be in place--save the lights, of course.

Enrique

It's almost as if the Manor itself has fallen into mourning for Eleanor's sad fate.

Enrique

But there are also no signs of Alistair.

Enrique

Let's continue to try to track him down. I want to make sure he's looked after.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

I'll keep an ear to the ground, so to speak.

I'm confident that I'll be able to catch up with Alistair shortly!

scene 3 - The Garden Before Time

intro [in garden]

Enrique

I've found Alistair, as promised.

Though it seems he's already turned to a kindred spirit to confide in. Still, someone should inform him that something's off the mark at Time Manor.

[Travel to Prehistoric Jungle Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 31 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Prehistoric Jungle Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Chauncey

...Well, Alistair, if Eleanor's the only one who has the system override key for the electrical circuit panel diddley-bob...

Chauncey

I'm afraid you're quite up the blind alley!

Alistair

Oh dear...That's terrible news...

Chauncey

Luckily, that's not the case! Allow me to finish wrangling these dinosaurs and then I'll be happy to investigate.

part 2 [after scene]

Chauncey

You see, back when I was a spry youngster such as yourself...

Chauncey

I became quite proficient at fiddling with circuit boxamajigs.

Chauncey

I've been known to override a system or two in my day, and I'm sure I'll have the power back on at Time Manor in a spark!

Alistair

Umm...are you sure you would know what you're--

Alistair

I mean!--Are you sure I'm not putting you out of your way, Chauncey?

Alistair

I know how much you prefer adventuring out of doors over meddling with wires in our old basement.

Chauncey

Nonsense, Alistair! It's no trouble at all if it will get the Manor back up and running again.

Chauncey

But I say! If you're looking for a temporary domicile for your operations, I do believe I know just the place!

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Ah, well it seems we didn't need to interrupt at all!

I should have known Alistair is quite the resourceful one! After all, he did find me, back in the day!

scene 4 - Your Long Neck of the Woods

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Chauncey says he has a BIG surprise for us!

Aren't you just dying to know what it is, Darling?

[Travel to Giraffe Manor]

[This scene is found in Chapter 31 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Giraffe Manor]

part 1 [before scene]

Chauncey

Huzzah! Not bad for a little rest and recreation while I sort out that electrical funny business, am I right?

Chauncey

It's like Time Manor...but with GIRAFFES coming through the windows!

part 2 [after scene]

Chauncey

Oh my goodness, dear fellow explorers of time! I almost forgot to introduce myself.

Chauncey

I'm Dr. Chauncey McNichols, Ph.D. in paleontology and emissary to the outer fringes of time and space!

Richard

We know who you are, Chauncey!

Richard

Do you honestly expect us to relax with this circus going on around us?

Richard

Well, I'm sorry if I'm not too keen on sharing my holiday living quarters with a bunch of wild animals...

Richard

...who would just as soon snack on my vest for their afternoon tea! Hmph!

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Say, have you seen Richard lately?

Did he seem more of the old devil-may-care self, or is he about the same begrudging and dissatisfied Richard that you'd expect after his getting heart-broken by Cleopatra?

scene 5 - The Last Scupper

intro [in garden]

Megan

Have you seen Quincy lately? He hasn't come calling.

Though, I suppose, I haven't made much of an effort to see him either. Umm...let him know I am thinking of him if you do see him, okay?

[Return to DaVinci Studio]

[This scene is found in Chapter 8 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in DaVinci Studio]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Hmm...Richard's annoyed outburst is most certainly a good sign!

Quincy

Though it seems a little odd that he was fussing over a bunch of giraffes...

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Oh...Why is it a good thing that Richard is unhappy, you ask?

Quincy

Excuse me, but were you not listening to what Eleanor said when we caught her breaking into that Egyptian tomb?

Quincy

She said she was going to make use of that sarcophagus, which by logical inference...

Quincy

...seems likely to indicate she meant to do a lot more than just exchange stern words with Cleopatra!

Quincy

If Richard's unhappy, it might be a sign that Eleanor didn't try to wipe Cleopatra from his past after all!

Quincy

Yes, I know that doesn't very well make sense. But what I mean is, we must find out what Eleanor did in that tomb!

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I left Eleanor's inferences out of my debriefing paperwork.

If you and Enrique are keen, I'd like to keep the investigation to ourselves until we have more conclusive information.

scene 6 - For Your Ears Only

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I hate to delay your joining the safari...

...but the side effects of Eleanor's doleful decision-making can't entirely mend themselves and I'm afraid I just don't feel fit to look into them today.

[Travel to Ta Prohm Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 31 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Ta Prohm Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I do understand Eleanor's reasoning:

Enrique

Nab Cleopatra in the very tomb in which she feigned her death, and before Richard could even meet her.

Enrique

Preventing that saucy tryst from occurring would effectively prevent all of Cleopatra's subsequent diabolical acts.

Quincy

But one absolutely mustn't use time travel to meddle with their own personal affairs!

Quincy

THERE'S A REASON that there are laws AGAINST that!

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Is Eleanor really capable of something so...extreme?

Quincy

If she succeeded, we'll start to see effects much more horrible than Richard losing recollection of his relationship with Cleopatra.

Quincy

And I don't know about you, but I'd rather not wait for a confirmation as apocalyptic as a frozen Sahara.

Enrique

Well then, have you tried observing Richard patiently from a distance?

Quincy

I beg your par--

Enrique

Seeing if there are any changes to his behavior?

Quincy

Spying? I beg your pardon, but unlike you, Enrique, I don't feel so comfortable with eavesdropping!

Enrique

No need to get your specs all bent up, Quincy! I'm merely trying to help.

Quincy

But we--

Enrique

I find being a skilled listener is usually a very effective way to get the information I need!

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

It's quite simple, really!

We keep a close ear on Richard, and if he seems jaded and vexed by Cleopatra, fantastic! It means there's no apocalypses headed our way!

scene 7 - Blowing Off Steam

intro [in garden]

Richard

I know Chauncey is ever-intent on being helpful...

...but personally, he's a bit too much of a nutter for my brand of humor. That, and I'm just not very fond of animals.

[Travel to Nagano Hot Spring]

[This scene is found in Chapter 31 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Nagano Hot Spring]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

A nice relaxing soak in these hot springs ought to give me a chance to collect my thoughts and--

Richard

What the dojo???

Richard

Why is there a sodding monkey in my meditative space???

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

You see, Quincy? Richard's still quite irritable! A sure sign of someone who's just come off of a very bad breakup!

Quincy

That may very well have been Richard's response to furry creatures all along. Your strategy has gotten us nowhere!

Enrique

Patience! The right information always reveals itself...in its proper time.

Enrique

But seeing as you're ever a stickler for schedules, remind me again why you can't just ask Richard if he remembers meeting Cleopatra?

Quincy

Because that's simply not an acceptable option!

Quincy

If his relationship with Cleopatra was indeed erased...

Quincy

...mentioning it to him would surely cause a paradox so great that it would yet again fracture the fabric of the universe!

Quincy

We'll need to wait for him to mention Cleopatra himself in order to confirm she still exists in his timestream.

Enrique

Ah-ha! Waiting and listening! It would seem that I was right all along!

Quincy

  • Grumble*

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I know you're fond of Enrique...

...but I do wish he wouldn't take our predicament so lightly. How he manages to remain unfazed by what we overheard in that tomb simply baffles me.

CHAPTER 32 – THE LYIN’ KINGEdit

scene 1 - In a Manor of Speaking

intro [in garden]

Quincy

Megan wishes to meet with me...

...but I'm afraid I must press on with investigating what transpired between Eleanor and Cleopatra. Would you mind providing some excuse for my absence?

[Travel to Giraffe Manor Paradox]

[Find 6 differences in Giraffe Manor Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

Oh...it's you.

Megan

I don't mean to sound disappointed, of course, but I was supposed to meet Quincy.

Megan

What are you doing here instead?

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Quincy had to make an emergency repair to one of our scanners, you say?

Megan

It is just like him to prioritize the efficiency of the Time Society over me.

Megan

It's just as well, I suppose.

Megan

I called him here to talk of how I've been fretting about our *personal matters* lately...

Megan

...but I hadn't quite figured out yet what exactly it is I want to say to him.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Well, if you do see Quincy again...

...tell him I am thinking about him, okay?

scene 2 - Fit to a Tea

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Quincy insists I help with this spying on Richard bit.

Perhaps he's finally realizing what a tremendous contribution my skill set can be!...I'm still worried about Alistair, though. Maybe you can look in on him?

[Return to Victorian Tea Parlor]

[This scene is found in Chapter 26 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Victorian Tea Parlor]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

It's so kind of you to invite me to tea...

Alistair

...though I don't know why you have such a worried look on your face.

Alistair

Running things on my own...that is, without Eleanor...has been a challenge indeed.

Alistair

But I *am* managing.

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

  • Sigh* You know, I've always admired your persistence.

Alistair

To ease your curiosity, I'll admit that I have indeed come across some distressing information.

Alistair

But it's nothing that you can assist with, I'm afraid.

Alistair

And while I appreciate your concern, I must insist that you not press me any further on the matter.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Are you sure he said nothing was wrong?

You're coming away from that conversation looking rather glum. Not hiding anything from me--are you, love?

scene 3 - Everything is Illuminating

intro [in garden]

Alistair

As a matter of fact, there IS one thing you could help me with.

Would you mind peeking in on Time Manor and seeing how Chauncey's getting along?

[Return to Hourglass Study]

[This scene is found in Chapter 1 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Hourglass Study]

part 1 [before scene]

Chauncey

Salutations, fellow Time Society member!

Chauncey

I'm Chauncey McNichols, electrophysicist and emissary to the outer fringes of time and space!

Chauncey

It's so very thorough of you to check up on the way of things around Time Manor...

Chauncey

...but as you can see, I've already got the place powered back up without even singeing my eyebrows!

part 2 [after scene]

Chauncey

See here! It wasn't that I was worried about my eyebrows getting a trim...

Chauncey

They were getting rather unruly anyway!

Chauncey

But now that it seems everything is in tip-top shape, I'd better be getting on to my next adventure!

Chauncey

Tally-ho!!!

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Oh, thank goodness everything's patched up.

I didn't want to seem untrusting, but I was a little worried that Chauncey was being overconfident in his abilities as an electrical repairman.

scene 4 - The Cave of Wondering

intro [in garden]

Chauncey

My goodness! It's so very unlike me to forget things!

But I nearly forgot that I have one more important stop to make!

[Find 12 hidden objects in Prehistoric Cave]

part 1 [before scene]

Chauncey

Lulu, my dear! You said you wanted to go someplace quiet to chat?

Chauncey

Well, there's nothing quieter than a prehistoric cave, am I right?!

Lulu

Umm, right. This sure is...cozy.

Lulu

Anyway, I'm glad to see you, Chauncey! I could really use your advice!

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

You see, I have a secret. It's an awfully good one, I think. And usually I love secrets because they're so very fun to share!

Lulu

But this one is different because, you see, this one is...umm...

Chauncey

...A secret about you?

Lulu

Right!

Lulu

...It's terribly hard to not share this secret with anyone, but at the same time I'm afraid of saying it out loud!

Chauncey

Dearest Lulu, if there's something about yourself that you want to share with people, then there's no reason at all to be afraid!

Chauncey

Your real friends will adore you for just who you are, no matter what surprises you have in store.

Chauncey

And anyone who says otherwise--Why, such a nincompoop is most certainly not worthy of your time!

Chauncey

Am I right, my darling?

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

Chauncey IS right.

I do feel better...but I'd still like to keep my news to myself for just a teensy bit longer. You understand, right, Chum?

scene 5 - Kenya Feel the Love Tonight

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I'm afraid the only one who might be of assistance is Quincy.

Where has that chap been, anyway?

[Travel to Maasai Village]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Alistair!!!

Alistair

Why, Quincy! Just the person I wanted to--

Quincy

You'll have to excuse me, Alistair, but I'm...umm...I'm in a terrible rush.

Quincy

I've...I've promised Megan that I'd pay her a visit! Yes! And I am afraid I'm already quite late. My apologies!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Hmm...It's been awhile since I've seen Quincy so flustered over an appointment with Megan.

Alistair

Before this sad business with the fissure in time, I was beginning to think that our resident young couple was growing quite comfortable together.

Alistair

I know I put up a fuss when they first began...dating. I had to, as a senior Agent.

Alistair

But I suppose that things--and people--change.

Alistair

My question for Quincy can wait for another time.

Alistair

...But do you reckon that everything is alright with him?

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Yes, of course.

There I go, worrying about everything even when there's nothing to be worried about. Thank you for putting my mind at ease, once again.

scene 6 - Water for Not Just Elephants

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Quincy's refused to give monitoring Richard a rest!

And Richard--all the fellow does is grumble inaudibly under his breath! Who knew covert operations could be so dreary!

[Travel to Watering Hole]

[This scene is found in Chapter 32 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Watering Hole]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

Hey, Richard! I think I could use some help identifying what types of animals can be found along an African safari.

Lulu

I guess I am so used to traveling to and fro in the Time Machine that I never took the time to learn what goes where!

Richard

I'm not so sure I'm the best fit for the role...

Richard

Perhaps someone more interested in these beasts would be of more help?

Lulu

But I thought maybe we could learn together!

Lulu

You could teach me about what animals belong in this part of the world...

Lulu

...and I could teach you why animals are cute and fun!

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

Oh, Lulu. I do feel as if your cheerful disposition is a contagious disease, from which somehow even I am not immune.

Lulu

So you'll help?

Richard

I suppose I--

Lulu

Goodie! You're such a peach, Richard! Now tell me, what kind of animals might I find swimming in this watering hole?

Richard

Well for starters...

Lulu

Dolphins???

Richard

No. Dolphins live in the ocean, Lulu.

outro [back in garden]

Richard

Lulu has a lot to learn...

But she's got the right spirit for it. And maybe she's correct...Maybe I will pick up a thing or two from her about changing the way I see things.

scene 7 - Great Speculations

intro [in garden]

Quincy

A paradox!!!

At the very place that Richard told us Cleopatra ended their highly inappropriate relationship! This does not bode well.

[Travel to Varanasi Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 32 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Varanasi Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

This is distressing news. Most distressing news, indeed.

Quincy

We've been keeping a careful watch on Richard and he hasn't so much as muttered a word about Cleopatra!

Enrique

I'd even go so far as to say he's been sounding rather chipper as of late!

Enrique

...Ever since he embarked on that safari with Lulu!

Enrique

But then again, even the coldest of hearts are no match for that warm and charming smile of hers!

Quincy

...

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Maybe we should tell Alistair about the words we exchanged with Eleanor before we left Ancient Egypt.

Enrique

I don't like the idea of keeping this enquiry a secret from him.

Quincy

No! We can't just charge forth with these unsubstantiated speculations.

Enrique

But it's not just speculation!

Enrique

Despite my insurmountable level of patience, I'm tired of dodging the matter, and I am just going to say it:

Enrique

If we suspect that Eleanor *killed* Cleopatra, we must tell Alistair what we know, as little as it may be.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

It's not like me to get so abominably cross...

...but I cannot keep Alistair in the dark any longer. I'm going to tell him what Eleanor said in that tomb, and I do not need Quincy's permission to do so.

CHAPTER 33 – CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SPAINEdit

scene 1 - On Strangers' Tides

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I cannot believe this.

I turned around to run a quick optimization on one of our logging systems and suddenly Richard is nowhere to be found!

[Travel to The Crow's Nest]

[This scene is found in Chapter 33 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in The Crow's Nest]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

This is not good. Not good at all.

Quincy

What's more, Enrique seems to have abandoned ship as well.

Quincy

I do hope he doesn't do anything rash.

Quincy

Sometimes I wonder about that fellow and how seriously--or not seriously--he's taking his new position as Time Agent.

Quincy

I'm not implying your training is below satisfactory or anything...

Quincy

...but, well, not everyone is a proper fit for this sort of work.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

What should I do???

Quincy

Even from up here, there are just no signs of Richard!

Megan

Umm, Quincy?

Quincy

Oh...hello...Megan...

Megan

Hello. I've been meaning to talk to you and--

Quincy

Well! I was just...just...umm...

Quincy

...

outro [back in garden]

Megan

That was terribly awkward.

I don't blame you for just slipping away like that. I, myself, ended up muttering an excuse before leaving. What's happened to me and Quincy???

scene 2 - Now and Zen

intro [in garden]

Richard

I must say.

I'm finding I have an unremarkable number of things to complain about today. Why, I think I might even like it if you joined me!

[Travel to Tea House Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 33 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Tea House Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

Isn't this just plain nice!

Richard

The water here is dreadful, but if you boil it, it'll be okay.

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

Perhaps someday I'll teach Lulu how to distinguish the origins of various varieties of tea.

Richard

Ha! It's fortunate we have a Time Machine because that day will most certainly be in the distant future!

Richard

The kid has got a good spirit, but I'm afraid there's not much else she's good at.

outro [back in garden]

Richard

I shouldn't speak poorly of Lulu though.

I just realized there's another thing she's remarkably good at: being a kind friend.

scene 3 - Enrique Tenacious

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Now that I've got Quincy off my trail...

I've asked Alistair to meet me in Spain! A place that always makes me feel like dancing. Will you dance, too, amor mio?

[Travel to Tablao Flamenco]

[This scene is found in Chapter 33 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Tablao Flamenco]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

But before we let the rhythm take us over, we really ought to speak with Alistair.

Alistair

Yes, I'm sorry I'm late! But what is it, Enrique?

Enrique

As you know, I've been your loyal informant for many years now.

Enrique

And while Quincy would rather I keep this information to myself, I do not feel right withholding it from you...

Enrique

...even if the information is rather unfortunate.

Alistair

Oh dear. Well, now that you've got me worried, you might as well get it out.

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

My goodness. I'm not even sure how to react to this. Are you terribly certain???

Enrique

Well, no. I can only speculate. But Eleanor DID say she was not going to let the sarcophagus go to waste.

Enrique

Those were her words.

Alistair

Well, you were quite right telling me, and I appreciate your loyalty, Enrique.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Is Eleanor capable...of murder?

Just saying it aloud makes me feel a chill. I'm afraid I won't be getting much sleeping until I know the answer.

scene 4 - The Riled West

intro [in garden]

Alistair

It's no wonder Quincy's been so tough to get hold of lately.

But there's something else that's not quite making sense.

[Return to Mag Dog Saloon]

[This scene is found in Chapter 12 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Mad Dog Saloon]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

If Cleopatra was erased from Richard's past, wouldn't we all no longer have memories of our interactions with her?

Alistair

Either way, we likely shouldn't tell the others that we're investigating Eleanor as a murder suspect.

Megan

Investigating Eleanor as a WHAT???

Alistair

Megan! What are you doing here? Oh dear.

Megan

I was just reminiscing about my first date with Quincy! I guess I didn't hear you two come in!

Megan

At least...not until you said...

Megan

How could you make such accusations???

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Eleanor may have broken the rules about time travel by trying to undo what happened to Geoffrey--but she is NOT a killer!

Megan

She is a grieving woman, not a malicious criminal!!!

Alistair

Megan, I beg of you, calm down!

Alistair

We're all very upset about the whole issue, and we only have hearsay at this point to operate upon.

Alistair

No one is jumping to conclusions, but we MUST investigate!

outro [back in garden]

Megan

It's Quincy!

He's the one who has put this idea in all of your heads, isn't he? I don't understand why he is so terribly quick to judge Eleanor...

scene 5 - My Unfair Quincy

intro [in garden]

Megan

That's it.

Things may be awkward, but I must make Quincy hear me out. I thought I knew him well, but there's a side of him I've been seeing lately that I am not sure I care for at all.

[Travel to London Clock Tower Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 33 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in London Clock Tower Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

Quincy, I insist on having a word with you.

Quincy

Megan! I'm...I'm afraid I am terribly busy with a, er, personal emergency at the moment.

Megan

Quincy, I AM your personal life!

Megan

You been so focused on WORK, you've forgotten that the rest of us are more than just part of your job!

Megan

You've been treating Eleanor like a criminal and me like nothing more than an office acquaintance!

Quincy

Our work is terribly important, Megan, and not to be taken lightly.

Quincy

But of course, you're...important, too! Oh dear...

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

I don't expect to be prioritized when all of history as we know it is at stake.

Megan

I'm a grown woman, and I don't always need to be the center of your attention.

Megan

But I don't see how our work involves you always seeing the absolute worst in people!

Megan

Eleanor, a murderer? Can't you see how that's just impossible? She's a respected Time Society member!

Quincy

On the contrary, Megan, based on the recent events revolving around her, the probability that she would do something drastically out of character is quite high and--

Megan

Well, bully for you and your statistical analyses, Quincy.

Megan

But you'll have to excuse me if I believe that there's more to human emotions than a few lines of data!

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Oh, bother. I thought Megan liked my analytical disposition!

But I also thought I could just put my relationship with her on hold until things with the Time Society got back to normal. I suppose I never told her I was doing that...

scene 6 - Amazon Primer

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Oh, hi, Sweetie.

Richard was going to show me the rainforest. I thought it was just going to be the two of us...but you can come along, I guess...

[Return to Rainforest River Passage]

[This scene is found in Chapter 22 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Rainforest River Passage]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

Hey! I didn't know that wallabies lived in the rainforest...!

Richard

They don't.

Richard

Remember how I mentioned we needed to drop in because there was a mild blip in time here...

Richard

...and we needed to extract the things that don't belong?

Richard

You know, because it's *our job* to turn up when something like that happens and make sure we sort out the anomalies and anachronisms?

Lulu

Oh! Right!

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Hey Richard, maybe I get confused about where things belong...

Lulu

...because I'm always getting sent to places where those time rift thingies have made stuff get all mixed up.

Lulu

You know, because I'm always traveling to do Time Society things!

Richard

Perhaps, Lulu...Perhaps.

outro [back in garden]

Richard

I'd rather not ask and hurt the kid's feelings...

...but Lulu's theory doesn't quite explain how she got her job in the first place. Though, maybe this isn't the right time to doubt her potential.

scene 7 - Love's No Walk in the Park

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I'm afraid I'm going to need Enrique's help again.

As uncomfortable as it is for me to admit I lack certain areas of expertise...You don't happen to know where he is, do you?

[Travel to Park Guell]

[This scene is found in Chapter 33 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Park Guell]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Why hello, Quincy! Wasn't I right that you needed a break? And this beautiful park is just the place!

Quincy

Umm...actually, Enrique, I was hoping to ask for a more...umm...personal favor?

Enrique

Personal favors are one of my specialties!

Enrique

And of course, I'm always willing to lend a hand to fellow Time Agents! How can I help?

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

I'm glad you're willing to put our professional differences aside and help me with Megan.

Enrique

But of course, my bespectacled friend!

Quincy

I'm not entirely certain why, but I get the impression you have a lot of experience with this...talking to women thing.

Enrique

Well! I am no expert with the ladies, as no man can be, but I'd like to think I have figured out a thing or two...or ten.

Quincy

Excellent! Now that I have secured your expertise, let's agree to meet again soon!

Quincy

But if you'll excuse me, I must continue to monitor if there are any oddities in Richard's timestream...

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Quincy never ceases to do peculiar things!

If he knows Megan is upset with him, I thought that making amends with her would surely be his priority! Not keeping watch on Richard!

CHAPTER 34 – THE SPANISH GARDENERSEdit

scene 1 - Spainy Day Blues

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Where has ol' Quincy gone?

If he wants any chance of getting back into Megan's good graces, he really shouldn't delay his apology.

[Travel to Granada Garden]

[This scene is found in Chapter 34 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Granada Garden]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

No, no Quincy here.

Richard

In fact, it's been a while since I have seen him at all, though I can't say I'm complaining because--

Richard

Hey!...Did you just see...?

Richard

I could have sworn I saw someone beyond those trees.

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

Nothing? All in my head then. Perhaps those who think I'm going loopy are finally right.

Richard

So, Quincy's pestering yet another chap for relationship advice, hmm?

Richard

I'm sure Enrique will have something more constructive to say...

Richard

...but to me, it was only a matter of time before Quincy and Megan realized they weren't in it for the long haul.

Richard

The notion that opposites attract is a complete myth, you know. Unless you're discussing magnets.

Richard

No Time Machine can take you to a fairy land where that fallacy holds true.

outro [back in garden]

Richard

For the record...

...I do try to bottle up all these woeful wisdoms around Lulu. These are the sorts of lessons I hope the dear never has a need to learn.

scene 2 - How to Succeed in Basqueness

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I sense that Megan is upset with me...

...but I am not particularly certain of *why* she's upset with me. I do hope I don't regret asking Enrique to help me sort things out.

[Travel to Tablao Flamenco Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 34 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Tablao Flamenco Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Oh! It's good you're here, Quincy, because I'm confident I have all the answers you need!

Enrique

I've got the trick that will get Megan to forgive you in no time!

Quincy

But I don't even know what I did to--

Enrique

Of course, I am no expert. But if you'd like my advice, Quincy, I recommend you do the following...

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

...That's utterly ridiculous! Why, I couldn't possibly!

Enrique

Trust my success record! It will work!

Quincy

No! Megan is a complex woman...with sharp wits!...And a strong sense of compassion! Not some girl who falls for cheap tricks!

Quincy

I've got it now! I should ask her how she feels, and then apologize for not listening to her sooner!

Quincy

I'm sorry to have wasted your time, Enrique, but clearly your experience must come from women very different from Megan!

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Why do you look so skeptical?

Don't you see what I did? I got Quincy to remember why he cared for Megan in the first place, and come up with a game plan on his own. All part of *my* plan to begin with!

scene 3 - The Finger-Point of No Return

intro [in garden]

Quincy

A meeting at Time Manor?

Have you any idea what it's about? I've been so distracted by Megan lately...What if some disaster has occurred in the time-space continuum in the interim???

[Return to Time Manor]

[This scene is found in Chapter 1 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Time Manor]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

I called this meeting to remind you all that if something requiring a substantial inquiry into the matters of history--or worse, the Time Society itself--arises...

Alistair

...you are all to inform *me* immediately, and not go about with your own renegade sleuthing!

Quincy

But--!

Alistair

Yes, Quincy, I am referring specifically to the recent example of your suspicions that another Agent committed egregious acts of finality and--

Megan

The idea that Eleanor could kill anyone is plain preposterous! How could you believe that, Quincy?!

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

This is horribly cruel and unjust.

Megan

Why is it that no attempts have been made to hear Eleanor's side of the story??? Is she even aware that we're accusing her of such crimes???

Alistair

You're right, Megan. Eleanor deserves her side to be heard, and I plan to return to Vegas immediately following the adjournment of this meeting.

Quincy

But--!

Megan

Whatever it is you have to say, Quincy, I can't imagine it being a substantiated reason for why Eleanor should not be allowed to defend herself.

Megan

As Time Agents, seeing the bigger picture is at the very core of our duties!

Megan

I think this meeting should be adjourned in order for Alistair to follow up immediately. Don't you agree?

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

That wasn't the right setting for my conversation with Megan at all!

Why can't there be some sort of instruction manual for these types of things???

scene 4 - Unstudied in Pink or The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quincy [both titles were in the xml]

intro [in garden]

Quincy

Now that Alistair is interrogating Eleanor...

...I'd better shift my focus to Megan and give her the attention she requires. I've got a plan!

[Travel to Flower Stand]

[This scene is found in Chapter 34 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Flower Stand]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Oh, bother. I thought that getting some flowers might help my situation with Megan.

Quincy

I assumed the pink kind would do. Megan loves pink, yes?

Quincy

But there are *so many* varieties of pink to choose from.

Quincy

How can I possibly know if I am making the correct choice?

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Why can't buying flowers be as simple as proving the Rietdijk-Putnam argument?

Quincy

Are you positively sure that Megan will like the ones I chose?

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Now I just need to let Megan know...

I'm determined to mend things with her. Umm...Perhaps you can ask her when she might become available to take a small trip with me?

scene 5 -  Barangay Hopping

intro [in garden]

Lulu

You seem to have been buzzing about like a busy bee!

Care to fill me in on all the latest, Honey?

[Travel to Higantes Festival Paradox]

[Find 6 differences in Higantes Festival Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

Sorry Richard and I missed the last meeting at Time Manor. We lost track of the time!

Lulu

It's been so lovely to see Richard smiling...even if he seemed slightly distracted by something behind his shoulder now and then.

Lulu

He's been teaching me all about how electricity didn't exist in Robin Hood times. Could you imagine a world with no lights???

Lulu

No wonder that era isn't known for its makeup trends!

Lulu

Anyway, did I miss anything important?

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Eleanor...accused of murdering Cleopatra? That's terribly scandalous!

Lulu

You don't think she possibly could have done it, do you?

Lulu

I always thought Eleanor was a bit of a meanie, but never THAT mean!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

It's funny you bring up Cleopatra, though.

Richard and I have been having such a lovely time together that I nearly forgot she existed! And I'm quite glad to report: Richard hasn't made a single mention of her, either!

scene 6 - No One Expects the Vegas Inquisition

intro [in garden]

Megan

Do you suppose your question can wait?

I'm not going to let Alistair interrogate Eleanor alone. She should know that, at the very least, she still has my support.

[Return to The Cancanning Crystalettes]

[This scene is found in Chapter 29 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in The Cancanning Crystalettes]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

Hello, Eleanor. I've come to--

Eleanor

Alistair! Have you come to take me back home? I realize now how incredibly selfish I was...and I could not be more sorry.

Eleanor

But you must take me away from this place--I'm terribly unsuited for Vegas!

Eleanor

People around here keep asking to have photographs taken with me, mistaking me for some sort of costumed performer!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Eleanor, I'm afraid my business here is far more serious than that, and it is not to return you to Time Manor.

Alistair

I've come here to ask you a question, and I expect it is in your best interests to answer truthfully.

Alistair

I've recently received some disturbing testimonial that you were planning to prevent Cleopatra from ever leaving her tomb. Is this true, Eleanor?

Eleanor

  • Sniffle*...Yes.

Megan

  • Gasp*

Eleanor

But I just couldn't go through with it! I wanted so badly to go back in time and undo everything Cleopatra did after she met Richard.

Eleanor

It felt so very justified. That tomb is already her final resting place, as far as the history books are concerned!

Eleanor

But unlike Cleopatra, I am not a murderess.

Eleanor

And shortly after Quincy and that new recruit left, I did the same...and found myself trapped here.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

I know you said you needed to tell me something...

...but unless it's terribly urgent, I'd like some time alone. I'm not quite sure what to think now, and I need some time to sort it out in my head.

scene 7 - Taking a Bull by the Horns

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I want desperately to believe Eleanor.

But I can't let my long-standing friendship with her cloud my judgment. Do you believe that she was telling the truth?

[Travel to Bullfighting Arena]

[This scene is found in Chapter 34 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Bullfighting Arena]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

Of course, it is entirely out of her character to do something so very horrific.

Alistair

But then again, the Eleanor I knew was one whose whole life was ruled by the laws of the Time Society.

Alistair

With all that's changed...is this that same Eleanor?

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

I think what remains troubling in my mind is the fact that none of the Agents have seen Cleopatra since Geoffrey's death.

Alistair

I can't imagine she'd have been contented by just disappearing with a trail of Eleanor's sorrow in her wake.

Alistair

And I don't believe for a second that she merely wished to travel the world.

Alistair

So, if what Eleanor says is true...

Alistair

...exactly where is Cleopatra now...?!

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

It's high time we hunted down Cleopatra.

Someone that diabolical cannot be allowed to roam freely throughout time. And furthermore, finding her would obviously prove Eleanor's innocence!

CHAPTER 35 – A MYSTERY OF TITANIC PROPORTIONSEdit

scene 1 - Wrecking Havoc

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I want to console Megan...

...but what do I say?! What if I just upset her more? *Sigh* Perhaps another swim will help clear my mind.

[Travel to Titanic Wreckage Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 35 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Titanic Wreckage Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Hmm...There wasn't a paradox the last time we visited the Titanic's final resting place.

Quincy

A place like this is entirely dormant--the natural fluxes in temporal energy hardly affect a place this far below sea level.

Quincy

A paradox is entirely unusual temporal activity!

Quincy

Suddenly, this relaxing swim is not so leisurely after all. I'll need to make some scans.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

How can this be???

Quincy

Overwhelming amounts of temporal energy are pouring through this paradox!

Quincy

This is not well at all!

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I've never seen anything like it!

I must take these readings back to my workshop and conduct further analyses. Meeting with Megan will, most unfortunately, have to wait.

scene 2 - Quincy Enrique Barcelona

intro [in garden]

Quincy

Could Eleanor have caused that paradox???

I must say I wouldn't be shocked at this point, considering her recent actions. We must alert the others!

[Return to Park Guell]

[This scene is found in Chapter 33 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Park Guell]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Hmm...where's Alistair?

Quincy

Never mind that! I have dangerous data that requires immediate attention!

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Dangerous amounts of temporal energy at the site of the Titanic wreckage? You're right, Quincy. This is bad news!

Quincy

What's more, I can't figure out the cause!

Quincy

It could be part of a ripple effect for an unrelated disturbance in time-space, or someone meddling with the Titanic's history when they shouldn't be...

Quincy

...or something I haven't even thought of!

Quincy

But I've run various analyses and the data is all coming back inconclusive! I think there is something wrong with my equipment!

Enrique

What do you say to Richard, Lulu, and I taking a look at the Titanic before it sank, to see if we can gather any clues?

Enrique

A few pairs of eyes and ears can do much more in the way of information gathering than machinery, in my humble opinion.

outro [back in garden]

Richard

Given how I feel about seawater...

I can't say I appreciate Enrique volunteering me for this mission. Why do you suppose he felt that Lulu and I would be fit for the task?

scene 3 - Auto-Tomb the News

intro [in garden]

Quincy

On second thought, I'd better find Alistair.

He's made it quite clear that we're to keep him informed, so he'll want to know of Enrique's investigation plan.

[Return to Egyptian Tomb Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 1 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Egyptian Tomb Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

...There's absolutely nothing here that serves as a clue to Cleopatra's hideout!

Alistair

Oh! I am quite glad you are here, Quincy. Forgive me--I've been getting caught up in conversations with myself a lot lately.

Quincy

I see! Well--

Alistair

But something's been causing me a lot of worry, and I've been meaning to talk with you about it.

Quincy

I'd like to help, Alistair, but there is also something I must--

Quincy

What the Dickens! The temporal energy levels here are impossibly high!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

We know Cleopatra's tomb is highly suspect when it comes to disrupting canonical continuity...

Alistair

But how could the Titanic possibly be connected???

Alistair

Are you certain the matching readings are not a coincidence, Quincy?

Quincy

Impossible! Levels like these are far above the natural ebb and flow of things in timespace.

Quincy

Someone with a greater level of time-manipulating expertise than even myself must have forcibly caused this.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Quincy's right.

Anything involving Cleopatra's tomb immediately is suspicious of foul play. It's not much of a lead yet, but at least it's something.

scene 4 - Him to the Sea

intro [in garden]

Alistair

If the others are going undercover on the Titanic...

I'd better join them. I'm hopeful that the trip will shed light on whatever connection there is between the doomed ship and Cleopatra's tomb.

[Travel to Southampton Dock]

[This scene is found in Chapter 35 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Southampton Dock]

part 1 [before scene]

Richard

Even *I* can admit that this ship is a magnificent nautical marvel for its time.

Richard

It seems unjust for us to be here, knowing we can pop onto the Time Machine for safety when the time comes...

Richard

...while this is the very last trip that some of these poor souls will ever make.

Quincy

Be that as it may, Richard, you should know by now that we cannot try to undo the great tragedies of history...

Quincy

...and that at the end of things, it's better for the time-space continuum if we allow the forthcoming events to run their course.

Quincy

Remember, we're here for an entirely different mission: to find an explanation for that burst of temporal energy.

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

  • Sniffle* I feel awfully terrible for all of these people, too, but I guess Quincy's right.

Lulu

It's horribly sad, but we need to follow the rules.

Lulu

I mean, remember how the whole world went topsy-turvy, after Eleanor tried to bring Geoffrey back to life by undoing what C--

Quincy

LULU! You must NOT mention--

Lulu

...what Cleopatra had done to our Time Machine???

Lulu

Right, Richard?...Richard, Dearie?

Quincy

Son of a sea biscuit! Richard has disappeared!

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

I feel entirely mortified.

I should have kept Lulu informed about how we mustn't mention Cleopatra around Richard. Now the man has disappeared! Could a misalignment of our timelines be to blame?

scene 5 - The Cold Truth

intro [in garden]

Megan

You have real dedication to the Time Society.

Going undercover on the Titanic is not something I think I would have the personal strength to do. I'd want far too desperately to rescue those people from the sinking ship.

[Travel to Greenland Village Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 35 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Greenland Village Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

I still believe that Eleanor was telling the truth about not going through with her plan.

Megan

But the fact that she ever considered that plan at all! The one to...umm...kill Cleopatra...

Megan

That is NOT the Eleanor I've grown to respect. Or the one that I have been defending this whole time!

Megan

Even if the love of her life was killed, I thought Eleanor was level-headed enough to see that revenge is *never* the answer.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

I'm rather glad you're here. I guess I could use an ear to bend after all.

Megan

You're right. I could be talking to Quincy about all this...and telling him why it upsets me.

Megan

But somehow, I don't think he'd understand.

Megan

He'd probably remark on how Eleanor has been behaving so irrationally that she doesn't deserve my trust.

Megan

He always sees things like these so differently from the way I do.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

To be terribly honest...

I'm starting to wonder if perhaps Quincy and I see things too differently to be compatible. I just wish I knew how to tell him this.

scene 6 - Taking a Gamble on Eleanor

intro [in garden]

Megan

I'm not entirely sure if this is allowed...

...but I feel the need to talk to Eleanor. I want her to be reminded that--awful as things may be--she made the right choice by not hurting Cleopatra.

[Travel to Card Table]

[This scene is found in Chapter 35 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Card Table]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

This Vegas poker room was made to mimic a wild Western saloon. How bizarre!

Eleanor

Megan! Thank goodness you're here. The various themed casinos in Vegas are not nearly as bizarre...

Eleanor

...as my recent visit from Cleopatra!

Megan

CLEOPATRA? HERE? How can this be???

Eleanor

I suppose that she thought you'd all abandoned me...so she revealed to me her entire plot to destroy you all!!!

Megan

  • Gasp*

part 2 [after scene]

Eleanor

Little did she know, I at least still have one friend in the Time Society.

Eleanor

Megan, you must warn the others at once!!!

Eleanor

That foul witch claims she plans to trap the rest of you in one place and--in her words: dispose of the Time Society like dumped garbage!

Megan

THE TITANIC! The others are investigating dangerous amounts of temporal energy at sea. Cleopatra must plan to trap them all on that doomed ship!

Megan

I'm afraid I'll have to leave you here, Eleanor, but I must hurry to warn the others before it's too late!

outro [back in garden]

Megan

I can't believe we abandoned Eleanor in Vegas...

...with no way for her to contact us, even in an emergency like this! If Quincy had not been so harsh about her suspension, perhaps the Time Society could have been spared of this danger!

scene 7 - First Class Crook

intro [in garden]

Megan

I must confess, my friend, that I am so afraid.

If Cleopatra's tampered with the Time Machine, we'll never be able to get off the Titanic once we arrive. But it's our duty as Time Agents to warn the team...so you and I must stay brave.

[Travel to Luxury Ship Cabin]

[This scene is found in Chapter 35 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Luxury Ship Cabin]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

Thank goodness I've found you all! We need to get out of here at once!

Megan

Cleopatra is back!

Alistair

!!!

Megan

She taunted Eleanor with her plan to destroy the Time Society once and for all! I think she intends to make us go down with the ship!

Megan

I've left the Time Machine running...We need to get off the Titanic before it's too late!

Lulu

But Richard's gone missing! We've got to find him!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

If Cleopatra is popping in and out of Vegas, then we know Eleanor was telling the truth, and Cleopatra is still very much a part of Richard's timestream.

Lulu

But there's still no sign of him!

Alistair

Perhaps the rest of you should take the Time Machine and--

Lulu

I am NOT leaving until we find Richard.

Lulu

We're supposed to be a team! We can't just abandon him!

Alistair

No one is abandoning anyone, Lulu; though I am sure Richard will appreciate your enthusiastic concern for his well-being.

Alistair

However, I do think some of us should take the Time Machine to safety, and bolster its security so we know we can still rely on it to get on and off the ship.

Lulu

In the meantime, I'm going to search every cabin of the ship until I find Richard.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Thank goodness the Time Machine still works.

Personal struggles aside, I'm going to need Megan's help testing every spring and bolt, and protecting the Time Machine from Cleopatra's diabolical plan.

CHAPTER 36 – THE TIP OF THE ICEBERGEdit

scene 1 - Testing the Waters

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Now that the Time Machine has delivered us to safety...

I'm going to station myself at Time Manor in case Alistair tries to contact us. Maybe you should check on Quincy and Megan in the meantime?

[Travel to Pirate's Brigantine Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 36 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Pirate's Brigantine Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

We've got the wrong ship!

Quincy

On the contrary, Megan, I've intentionally set course for waters that we know have not been tampered.

Quincy

I need to collect some control data and run a cross-analysis with the temporal energy I detected in the water near the Titanic's wreckage.

Quincy

This will help me determine what countermeasures need to be taken to safeguard the Time Machine before we return to sea!

Megan

Oh! Very well then; I'd better leave you to your work...

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Wait! Megan!

Megan

Yes?

Quincy

I could truly use your help. If we're going to keep the Time Machine--and the rest of the team--safe from harm, I umm...I can't do it alone.

Quincy

That is, if you don't mind lending a hand...But I understand if you--

Megan

I'd be glad to help. Of course! Anything to keep the Time Society safe.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I know that there are more pressing things at stake.

Still, I can't help but be relieved that Megan is willing to work with me. Perhaps I can patch things up with her in the process!

scene 2 - Testing the Waters or Must Love Cogs [both titles were in the xml]

intro [in garden]

Megan

I hope the others are holding up.

The sooner we bolster the security on the Time Machine, the sooner we can return to the Titanic and help them.

[Return to London Clock Tower Desk]

[This scene is found in Chapter 9 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in London Clock Tower Desk]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Megan and I are getting on quite well, thankfully! She's just gone into the archives to retrieve some additional documentation.

Quincy

She's frightfully worried about the others, as am I, but other than that, she hasn't been the slightest bit cross with me!

Quincy

It's been absolutely wonderful working side by side again. I'm reminded how terribly fond I am of her quick thinking and aptitude for absorbing new knowledge.

Quincy

Oh dear, you'll have to excuse me! I've forgotten to switch off the power on one of the relativity meters!

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

You're sweet for checking up on me.

Megan

But this is hardly the time to let Quincy and my personal problems get in the way of productivity...so we've been getting along just fine.

Megan

I'll be honest though, it's nice to be reminded of how much I am drawn to Quincy's technological prowess.

Megan

He may be inept with relationships. But seeing him in his element, here in the workshop...well, it's quite attractive.

Megan

I haven't forgotten how he handled the whole Eleanor situation, or that I'll need to have a serious discussion with him about *us* when everyone else is safe.

Megan

But for now, I think I am just going to enjoy the time that we have together.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Still no news from Alistair about Richard.

Do you think something's happened to them??? If Quincy thinks the Time Machine is ready, we should swoop in for a rescue immediately!

scene 3 - Quincy, You're No Picnic

intro [in garden]

Megan

The Time Machine has never been more secure.

Quincy's set up numerous emergency protocols to make sure we'll never be trapped in a dangerous situation!

[Travel to Victorian Picnic]

[This scene is found in Chapter 36 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Victorian Picnic]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

I don't understand! After we've combed through every bit of the Time Machine, how could it possibly still be bringing us to the wrong place???

Quincy

Not to worry, Megan! I configured the Time Machine to bring you here by surprise!

Quincy

I know how much you love romantic surprises, so I thought we could share a spontaneous picnic in the park.

Quincy

The truth is, well, I've been wanting to speak with you for a while now but it was never the right moment to--

Megan

Surprise picnic??? Not the right moment is correct, Quincy!

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

...And this is precisely what I mean!

Megan

For someone utterly brilliant at, well, at every technological thingie imaginable, I just can't comprehend how you're so appalling at getting your priorities straight!

Quincy

But--

Megan

First, you were stone cold and starkly work-centric when Eleanor needed your sympathy...

Megan

...and now all of a sudden you're having a picnic when our colleagues--our FRIENDS--are stranded on the Titanic!

Megan

You know, perhaps you are right. Perhaps it is time for us to have a *talk*.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I thought that since everything was going so well in the workshop...

...now would be a good time to talk to Megan about why she's been upset. But instead, I just made her *more* upset!

scene 4 - Desperately Seeking Richard

intro [in garden]

Megan

Quincy and I need to sort things out privately.

Will you please check on the others without us? I'll never forgive myself--or Quincy--if something happened to them while we were busy settling our personal differences.

[Travel to Grand Staircase]

[This scene is found in Chapter 36 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Grand Staircase]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

Thank goodness you're back, Chum. I'm absolutely frantic!

Lulu

Richard is still nowhere to be found and I am starting to imagine the worst! What if he fell overboard? I just don't know what I'd do!

Lulu

Will you please help me look for him? Two eyes are better than one!

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

I care about everyone on our team, but I confess I am particularly frenzied about finding Richard.

Lulu

Do you remember when I told you that I had a big secret, but I didn't tell you what the secret was? I think I'm ready to share it with you now.

Lulu

The truth is...I've completely fallen in love with Richard!

Lulu

I didn't want to tell anyone because well, Richard doesn't quite have the best reputation. But when you get to know him, he's truly got the most wonderful heart.

Lulu

I've been spending a lot of time with him recently, and in the process, I'm afraid I've gone head over heels for him!

Lulu

Hey! Why don't you look surprised?! If I were telling *me* such juicy gossip, I'd be completely scandalized!

Lulu

What do you mean I was being obvious???

outro [back in garden]

Megan

  • Sniffle*

I'm afraid I can't join the others on the Titanic right now. I just wouldn't be able to face such a tragic moment in history, given how awful I already feel. I'm sorry to let you down.

scene 5 - The Cold Man and the Sea

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Thank goodness we can rely on the Time Machine to transport us to safety.

But before we can all go home, we'll need to figure out what's happened to Richard. I hope he isn't up to some of his old shenanigans again.

[Travel to Southampton Dock]

[This scene is found in Chapter 35 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Southampton Dock]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

Of course, we wouldn't be in the situation of one of our own Agents disappearing on this doomed liner...

Alistair

...if Eleanor had been able to warn us about Cleopatra in time.

Alistair

And I blame no one but myself for leaving Eleanor in such isolation from the rest of the Time Society.

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

I know how much she must have wanted to help us, and to be able to do nothing...That must have been terrible for her.

Alistair

I hope she will forgive me someday for leaving her feeling so very helpless.

Alistair

There is more to this issue than I feel comfortable disclosing at the present time.

Alistair

But I mean to do whatever is in my power to right the situation.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

In the meantime, please look after Lulu.

I worry that she's worked herself into quite a state over Richard's disappearance. If this situation ends badly...I would hate for someone like Lulu to face it alone.

scene 6 - Ex Marks the Spot

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Do be careful, my friend.

I find it rather disconcerting that, despite Eleanor's encounter, we haven't actually seen signs of Cleopatra. What could she possibly be plotting?

[Travel to Luxury Ship Cabin Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 36 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Luxury Ship Cabin Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

  • Sniffle* I just don't know what to do, Sweetie. I've searched everywhere for Richard...

Lulu

...and instead all I've seen are loads and loads of other passengers that I know will be all gone by tomorrow.

Lulu

I feel terrible that I can't tell them to cherish this last evening with their loved ones, and say their goodbyes.

Lulu

But you know what? I've learned an important lesson by being here.

Lulu

I've decided that life is just too short to not tell someone you love him. It would be unfair to Richard to deprive him of feeling loved!

Lulu

All I have to do is find him...and I'll tell him how I feel.

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Richard??? I've been looking for you all over the place!

Richard

I'm sorry, Lulu. But, you see, I was a little preoccupied with reeling in a very rotten catch.

Cleopatra

My, my Dick. I always thought Eleanor had a few too many wrinkles for you...

Cleopatra

...but turning to Miss Milton's girly charms is quite the surprising about-face!

Richard

Not that it is any of your business, but for the record, Lulu and I are just friends.

Richard

Honestly, Cleopatra, when are you going to learn that some people can develop meaningful friendships without tousling their linens?

Cleopatra

Hmph!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

  • Sniffle* He doesn't think of me as anything more than a friend!

And the worst part about it is, I can tell Richard's still not over Cleopatra. Did you see the way he looked at her???

scene 7 - Remorse Code

intro [in garden]

I'm heading back to the Titanic at once.

I believe that Richard's reformed, but that doesn't mean he's capable of preventing Cleopatra from escaping.

Alistair

[Travel to Marconi Room]

[This scene is found in Chapter 36 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Marconi Room]

part 1 [before scene]

Cleopatra

So good of you to join us on our little luxury cruise.

Richard

This is where I found her. I didn't mean to give you all a scare but I caught sight of that fake blond hair out of the corner of my eye...

Richard

...and began following the trail of that all too familiar smell of perfume. Which lead me here.

Alistair

I don't know what you're trying to do, Cleopatra, but you're coming with us.

part 2 [after scene]

Cleopatra

But darlings! You've got it all wrong!

Cleopatra

You see, all I was trying to do here was send out a distress call. We all know this ship is going to go down before the sun rises.

Cleopatra

By sending out a distress signal before it even strikes the iceberg, a nearby ship will surely change course in time to rescue the Titanic's passengers!

Alistair

I'm not one bit convinced that you're suddenly using time travel to save lives...

Alistair

...but despite your theory, you're not helping anyone by trying to change the course of history.

Alistair

Consequences of apocalyptic proportions would be involved. And if you were a legitimate bearer of the secret of time travel, you'd know that.

Cleopatra

Very well then! If you would rather imprison little ol' me than avert one of the greatest tragedies in maritime history, the guilt is yours to bear!

outro [back in garden]

Richard

Don't believe that temptress for a second.

That would be falling right into her devious trap. We've seen what happens when time travelers try to change history, and we positively can't allow it.

CHAPTER 37 – ONCE UPON A CRIME IN MEXICOEdit

scene 1 - Party Hardly

intro [in garden]

Enrique

One of my many skills of which you may not yet be aware...

...is that I *know* how to throw a party. And if that Egyptian goddess is as malicious as you say she is, defeating her sure sounds like reason to celebrate!

[Travel to Mexican Fiesta]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Mexican Fiesta]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Amigos! Welcome!

Enrique

We'll be shaking more than just our maracas once this party gets started!

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Hey! Why all the somber faces?

Megan

  • Sniffle* I'm sorry, Enrique, but I'm afraid I am just not in the mood for celebrating at the moment.

Lulu

Yeah, me neither, Honey. I hardly ever pass up a soiree this delightful, but I'm feeling a little too down in the dumps today.

Alistair

Regrettably, I have some unfortunate business to attend to and therefore also cannot partake in this fiesta.

Alistair

But Megan...I was hoping perhaps you might be able to tell me where Quincy is?

Megan

  • Sob*

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Poor Megan.

Being on the Titanic just before its sinking must have shaken her up quite a bit. I certainly don't blame her for getting upset.

scene 2 - Deep Blues Sea

intro [in garden]

Quincy

It seems my schedule has suddenly opened up.

Because, umm...Cleopatra has turned herself in and all. But as you know, I don't prefer to dawdle, so I'm going to take another careful look at the Titanic wreckage!

[Return to Titanic Wreckage]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Titanic Wreckage]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Just as I suspected! No more paradox!

Quincy

Were those unusual temporal energy levels somehow artificially induced by Cleopatra? Just to lure us onto the ship?

Quincy

I'll run some scans. But I hypothesize that they won't tell us much.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

All levels are back to normal!

Quincy

At coordinates where readings were off the charts just a few days ago, suddenly everything is as mundane as a sea cucumber.

Quincy

But that doesn't explain whether luring us onto the Titanic's maiden voyage was all Cleopatra had in mind...

Quincy

...OR how Cleopatra even got her hands on the sophisticated technology needed to cause such a strong paradox in the first place!

Quincy

The data may indicate normalcy, but my instincts tell me that something isn't right.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I'm usually not one to refute charts and numbers.

But I was once told by an old friend that data is no match for what you know in your gut. And I think I finally understand that.

scene 3 - Jailhouse, Rocked

intro [in garden]

Quincy

I'm usually a bit terrified of confronting intimidating women.

But with all the trouble Cleopatra has caused, I'm furious enough to suppress that discomfort for sake of an interrogation. The fact that she'll be behind bars helps, too.

[Travel to Sheriff's Office Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Cleopatra

Well hell's bells! If it isn't my favorite chief technologist here to pay little ol' me a visit!

Quincy

Now see here, you treacherous criminal! With all the trouble you know you've caused, the least you can do is answer some questions!

Cleopatra

Well, ask away then, Quincy, dear! I'll tell you anything you want to hear...

part 2 [after scene]

Cleopatra

There are some little tricks I'd love to teach you...like how I caused such a powerful paradox...

Quincy

I KNEW that was you!!! How did you possibly get your hands on such a large source of temporal--

Cleopatra

See, this is just what I am trying to offer you! A chance to join my own intimate little society.

Cleopatra

I think we'd make a swell team, don't you? And I heard you could use a little extra company in your workshop...

Quincy

Wha--How did you--?

Cleopatra

Oh, I can manipulate more than just time and space, Quincy. And if you partner up with me...I think you'll learn a lot.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

On second thought...

...do you think Enrique might be available to interrogate her instead? He does seem to be a more effective communicator.

scene 4 - Heartbreaks Hotel

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Did you hear???

Megan and Quincy broke up while the rest of us were on the Titanic! Usually, I'd love digging up all the juicy details of that sort of split...but instead, I just feel sad that they didn't work out.

[Travel to Royal Crown Hotel]

[This scene is found in Chapter 30 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Royal Crown Hotel]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

I could use someone to talk to and I think you're the one who will understand me. I hope you don't mind that I keep coming to see you, Eleanor.

Eleanor

On the contrary, I appreciate that you continue to place any value on what I have to say.

Eleanor

I'm afraid everyone else in the Society simply distrusts me. What is troubling you, Megan?

Megan

Well, Quincy and I have decided--or rather, I have decided for us both--that we should no longer be together.

Megan

I started considering the possibility that we weren't suited for each other some time ago...

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

I was worried sick about our friends being trapped on a sinking ship, and he was thinking about picnics!!!

Megan

Or I would be terribly sad for a grieving friend, and Quincy would be focused on disciplining that colleague for breaking the rules!

Eleanor

Oh dear! I feel awful that I was part of what drove you two apart.

Eleanor

I'm forever grateful for the way you tried to help me, Megan, but I did do something terribly wrong, and Quincy's reaction was justified.

Eleanor

Now that I've had all this time to reflect upon my actions, I understand why he acted as he did. And one day, you might too.

Eleanor

In the Time Society, it is impossible to prevent work from getting in between two people who care about each other.

Eleanor

But it seems as if you still care deeply about Quincy, and that shouldn't be something you just give up on.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Eleanor may have forgiven Quincy...

...but I still haven't. And I don't want to be with someone so unsympathetic to his friends. I think I made the correct choice for myself...Right?

scene 5 - All's Quiet on the Eastern Front

intro [in garden]

Quincy

If I correctly understand what was going on...

...it seemed that Cleopatra was trying to recruit me! But for what??? Was this her plan all along? I'd better tell Alistair.

[Travel to New York Public Library]

[Find 12 hidden objects in New York Public Library]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Alistair! I have just come from a very troubling confrontation with our imprisoned culprit, and--

Alistair

Quincy, before you speak another word, there is something I must address with you.

Alistair

I have been putting it off for too long as it is, and doing so has made the weight of the news feel progressively more unbearable.

Alistair

I took a second look at Eleanor's file and the security procedures you used to enforce her suspension from duty.

Alistair

And as far as I can tell, they seem to be irreversible! Meaning, Eleanor can never time travel with us again!

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Things were rather chaotic at the time...

Quincy

...and I suppose I was so terribly focused on making sure Eleanor did not cause any more trouble...

Quincy

Is it possible that I could have made such a mistake??? I'd feel absolutely terrible!

Alistair

I suppose it's possible I misinterpreted one of the entry logs, as analyzing that information is not my area of expertise.

Alistair

To ease my mind, Quincy, I ask that you immediately take another look at all the records to confirm.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I do hope, in this case, that I am mistaken.

But I have been reading the information over and over for days now, and as far as I can tell, it is clear that we may never reinstate Eleanor again.

Lulu

Richard!

Richard

Oh, hello, Lulu. What brings you here?

Richard

I would have thought that a holiday revolving around all things deceased would not suit you as well as it does me.

Richard

But since you are here...I have been meaning to thank you. I heard how worried you were when I disappeared on the Titanic, and how you insisted on making sure I was safe.

Richard

You're quite a kind friend, Lulu. In fact, one of the best I've ever had.

Lulu

Oh! Umm, well I couldn't just abandon you on a sinking ship! We're all a team!

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

I came looking for you because I wanted to see if you were okay!

Lulu

You know, with all the stuff that just happened...with Cleopatra coming back...Are you okay?

Richard

  • Sigh* I can't exactly say I'm thrilled with the prospect of having to face her in a jail cell.

Richard

I thought that by capturing her, somehow sweet revenge would give me the closure I needed to move on.

Richard

But the truth is...as much as I detest that witch, I am unable to put out of my mind the way she made me feel when we were together.

Richard

For the very first time in my life, I believed that someone could genuinely love me.

Richard

And if I face Cleopatra, I'll also have to face the fact that it was all a lie.

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

What do you mean I should have told him how I feel?

That timing would have been horrid! Plus, you heard Richard! He's never going to be able to get over that awful bottle blonde.

scene 7 - True Grits

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Have you heard anything from Quincy?

I'm feeling quite anxious about this whole situation of Eleanor's suspension. The sooner I have an answer, the sooner I can stop dreading the worst.

[Travel to Adobe Home]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Adobe Home]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

What do you mean what am I doing here?! I just umm...happen to love homemade cornmeal consumables.

Quincy

...

Quincy

Oh, I suppose I'll have to tell everyone eventually. I'm just trying to work up the courage.

Quincy

The truth is, Alistair was right. I don't understand how it was possible for me to make such a horrendous miscalculation...

Quincy

But it seems that purging Eleanor's time signature data from our access database was done in a way that is irreversible.

Quincy

Meaning, we won't be able to reinstate Eleanor as a Time Agent!

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

...At least, not as easily as I had intended anyway.

Quincy

Every process in our system can be undone, but it might take even someone like me a tremendously long time to overwrite this one.

Quincy

I'm going to get right on it, as soon as I tell the others...

Quincy

...but even if I succeed, I have a feeling this miscalculation will cost me any chance that still remained of being on good terms with Megan.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

This is exactly what Megan was upset by, and rightly so.

I was so focused on how Eleanor was in the wrong that I failed to think of the bigger picture. Now, I'm the one wishing I could undo the past.

CHAPTER 38 - DESPERADOSEdit

scene 1 - The Two Caballeros

intro [in garden]

Quincy

When I was with Megan...

I knew I never had to stand alone, even when I'd made a mistake. Now, having to face Megan with my bad news makes me feel more alone than ever.

[Travel to Palacio de Bellas Artes]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Palacio de Bellas Artes]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Alistair, I do apologize for disrupting your holiday.

Alistair

Not to worry, Quincy. I am afraid any real holiday is impossible for me these days, with all that has been on my mind.

Alistair

There's still the matter of Cleopatra, sitting in our custody, in a nineteenth-century Western jail cell as an example...

Alistair

But nevermind that! Have you drawn a conclusion from your analysis?

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

I could not be more sorry, Alistair. It seems that your preliminary understanding of the data was correct.

Alistair

Does this mean--

Quincy

I'm afraid Eleanor may never travel with us again.

Alistair

This...This is sad news. I never meant for Eleanor's suspension to be permanent. Is there nothing we can do?

Quincy

I cannot answer that presently, but I wish to ask you for a personal leave of absence...

Quincy

...so that I may spend my time to trying to find a fix for this issue.

Quincy

I cannot promise anything, but I want to devote all my efforts to reversing my egregious mistake.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I don't suppose you or Alistair could break this news to Megan?

I know I'm being cowardly, but I'm glad she wasn't at that meeting. I simply cannot bear to face her with the news of my mistake.

scene 2 - No Timely Solution

intro [in garden]

Quincy

Alistair was kind not to get furious at me.

I respect the way that he leads our group. But the truth is, it was entirely my fault that Eleanor's suspension was not executed as intended.

[Return to Time Manor]

[This scene is found in Chapter 1 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Time Manor]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

The Time Society depends on me for some of its most delicate work. How could I make such a mistake???

Quincy

At the time, I was blindsided by the notion that even someone I respected could act irrationally when overcome by grief.

Quincy

But that's no excuse. I should have checked my codes over a dozen times more before activation.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Just a few stray keystrokes changed the situation entirely.

Quincy

What I thought were the system protocols to temporarily isolate Eleanor's access from our equipment...

Quincy

...regrettably activated a similar but more severe protocol which *permanently* deactivates an individual's time signature.

Quincy

I tried doing some research on this security protocol in the archives...

Quincy

...and apparently it was configured by some of the Society's Founding Fathers!

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Back then, the Society was still quite small.

And the technology was still relatively primitive. Why did the Founding Fathers feel the need to ban one of their own from time travel...for good?

scene 3 - An Aztec-nological Glitch

intro [in garden]

Alistair

To think, if Eleanor stopped caring about the Society...

...we could all very well have been trapped on the Titanic. And then we wouldn't be here having this conversation today.

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

What's the matter, Alistair? You look terribly distraught.

Alistair

There's no easy way to share this news, Megan, so I am just going to tell you plainly:

Alistair

There was a problem with the way Eleanor's suspension was carried out...

Alistair

...and it seems unlikely at this point that we will ever be able to restore her time traveling privileges.

Megan

  • Gasp* But how can this be???

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Oh, for heaven's sake! Was Quincy so focused on punishing Eleanor that he got overzealous and banned her permanently?

Alistair

We were ALL under great duress at the time. And even in the best of times, accidents can happen.

Alistair

However, Quincy's determined to find a fix for this error, and if anyone can find a way to override the system, it's Quincy.

Alistair

In the meantime, I must now muster the courage to deliver this awful news to Eleanor herself.

Megan

Perhaps I could be the one to tell her? Maybe hearing it from a friend might soften the blow.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Now I feel even worse for Eleanor than before!

How could Quincy have made such a careless mistake? In our delicate line of work, how could anyone make a mistake like that???

scene 4 - Ship and Bail

intro [in garden]

Enrique

I hope you're not turned off by ocean breezes now, mentor!

Alistair's given me a frosty assignment, and I could use your company to heat things up a little.

[Travel to Viking Ship]

[This scene is found in Chapter 28 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Viking Ship]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

I can't say that I fancy places like this. Ice is a little too off-putting for me.

Enrique

And while I normally never step away from a challenge...

Enrique

I feel rather embarrassed to say, I'm feeling a bit out of sorts at the moment.

Enrique

If you lend me a hand with this routine clean-up, I'll be sure to make it up to you some other time!

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Oh yes! I'm quite alright. How could I not be, when I have the pleasure of your company!

Enrique

But I have to admit I am feeling a little seasick with all the seafaring we've been doing lately...

Enrique

First on the Titanic, and now here?

Enrique

I think it might be better if I stick to dry land for a bit.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

Ah, I'm feeling better already!

Thanks for helping me out there, love. Remember, if you're ever in need of a favor, I'd be more than glad to return one to you!

scene 5 - Spark Notes

intro [in garden]

Lulu

I just heard the news about Quincy's big mistake!

With Eleanor being a close chum of Megan's, I can't imagine that Quincy and Megan will stay on good terms after this mix-up. Will it be awkward if they have to work together???

[Travel to Electricity Experiment]

[This scene is found in Chapter 38 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Electricity Experiment]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Oh, hello. You've just arrived on the tail end of another failed experiment.

Quincy

Oh no, not Franklin's! I was referring to my own.

Quincy

You see, I was hoping that I could harness the energy from the atmospheric electrical discharge of this lightning storm...

Quincy

...and use a device I invented to convert it to temporal energy.  But it's still not enough power, I'm afraid.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Based on the preliminary calculations I made last night--or, I suppose that was the wee hours of this morning!--

Quincy

It would take an incomprehensible amount of temporal energy to override the system!

Quincy

It would require an amount I've never witnessed before from any isolated source...

Quincy

...EXCEPT when I was scanning that phenomenally unusual paradox we experienced, at the underwater site of the Titanic!

Quincy

If only there was a way get access to whatever energy source Cleopatra used to cause such a phenomenon...

Quincy

But how???

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I don't mean to be rude, but it's best if you return to your garden.

I'm afraid I don't have much time for small talk. I get so lost in my research that I make for very poor company.

scene 6 - Who Will Always Stay in Vegas?

intro [in garden]

Megan

Telling Eleanor she's stuck in Vegas is not going to be easy.

But at least I'll also be there to tell her that she still has a friend in the Society, whether she's an active member or not.

[Travel to Las Vegas Strip Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 38 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Las Vegas Strip Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Eleanor

Hello, Megan. Alistair said I should be expecting a visit from you.

Megan

Alistair??? But--

Eleanor

Not to worry, he's already told me everything. He seemed hopeful that Quincy would find a way to override the system so that I might travel with you all once again...

Eleanor

...but to be frank, I can't say I'm one to get my hopes up anymore, after all that's happened.

Eleanor

I'm getting used to this place! Truthfully! It's not quite the same as time travel, but this city is its own little world of curiosities.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Why did Alistair rush over here without telling me?

Eleanor

Something you said struck a chord with him, apparently. About how you thought I should hear the news from a friend, and thus, you volunteered.

Eleanor

He came to tell me about it in person because he wanted to make sure I knew that he was still a friend of mine, too. And I do.

Eleanor

I don't want you to pity me, Megan, because I see very clearly now, how I brought this fate upon myself.

Eleanor

I was supposed to be a leader of a powerful Society, and a role model to young Time Agents like you.

Eleanor

And yet I broke one of the most basic and absolute laws of that Society, out of my own selfishness.

Eleanor

Please...I don't want anyone to get upset about this on my behalf. Just promise me you'll visit?

Megan

Of course! Eleanor, I am not going to abandon you. And, for what it's worth...you're still a role model to me.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

It's not fair!

Eleanor has clearly repented the choices that got her suspended in the first place but she can't be reinstated! She's put on a brave face, but she has every reason to be upset.

scene 7 - Romancing the Stone City

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Hey Dearie...I have more secrets to tell...

...about me. Can you keep this conversation hush-hush?

[Travel to Tulum Seaside]

[This scene is found in Chapter 38 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Tulum Seaside]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

  • Sigh* What a romantic sunset...

Lulu

Romance has been on my mind a lot lately, but not in the way you think I mean.

Lulu

I've been thinking a lot about our Society's failed relationships...

Lulu

Everything that has happened to Eleanor? It must have been unbearable for her to lose Geoffrey, and things have only gotten worse for her since.

Lulu

And Megan and Quincy? I thought surely those two geeks would live happily ever after...but they haven't.

Lulu

They say that true love is timeless...but are all of us Time Agents doomed to be loveless???

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

You're absolutely right, Sweetie. What a peach you are for setting me back on track!

Lulu

One weed doesn't ruin a flowerbed, so why should I let a couple of depressing examples discourage me?

Lulu

I want to tell Richard how I feel. Truly, I do!

Lulu

But I think the first step is helping him get over that wretched Cleopatra.

Lulu

Maybe then, he'll see that him and me would make a much, much better pair!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

Thanks for reminding me that I should follow my heart.

But until I do, don't forget that I am trusting you to keep my secret!

CHAPTER 39 – TURKISH DELIGHTSEdit

scene 1 - Gal at the Waterfront

intro [in garden]

Megan

Can you believe that Eleanor hasn't been to Turkey since the fall of Troy?

She may not be able to travel on her own, but that doesn't mean she should be isolated. I'm going to do my best to help bring the rest of the world to her.

[Travel to Galata Waterfront]

[This scene is found in Chapter 39 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Galata Waterfront]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

It's just awful that Eleanor will never get to see this.

Megan

The lovely colors across the waterfront and the ornate boats of the fish sellers make this an amazing destination.

Megan

Let's poke around in this market and find a few souvenirs to bring back to Eleanor.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

Come to think of it, I do understand why even a seasoned time traveler like Eleanor may not have made her way to a beautiful place like this one.

Megan

Romantic waterfronts like these are better enjoyed with a romantic companion.

Megan

Don't get me wrong--I appreciate you keeping me company!

Megan

But, well, being in the city of Istanbul--the only city in the world where the East meets the West--

Megan

--it just reminds me how beautiful it can be when opposites attract.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Of course, two sides being *too* different is not a good thing.

And I haven't forgotten about that, either.

scene 2 – A Foggy Day in Lamu Town

intro [in garden]

Alistair

The last time I sent the rest of the team on a safari...

I'm afraid I wasn't much in the mood for a leisurely retreat. Perhaps now would be the right time to take a bit of a holiday.

[Travel to Lamu Town Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 39 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Lamu Town Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

It's not that I am suddenly rid of things on my to-do list...

Alistair

...but the fact of the matter is, with Cleopatra surrendering herself and being locked away in our holding cell...

Alistair

I am feeling as if there is not much I *can* do!

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

If I may be perfectly candid...I'm at a complete loss on this one.

Alistair

While this sounds odd, Cleopatra is a remarkable case of a *perfect* time-traveling villain!

Alistair

Thanks to Richard, she was plucked out of her own era just after feigning her death...when all the scholars of her time would have recorded her as dead anyway.

Alistair

Unlike most wayward time travelers, who can just be returned to the lives they belong in...

Alistair

...well, we can't exactly lock Cleopatra back in that tomb. And her countrymen would get a terrible fright if she just turned up alive all of a sudden!

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I'm plumb out of ideas for how to proceed.

But I do hope that something comes to me soon. I've got a feeling that keeping Cleopatra locked up in the wild West isn't very ideal either.

scene 3 - The Wiled West

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Enrique's been on guard duty for a while.

Would you mind taking over for him, to give him a chance to get some fresh air?

[Travel to Wild West Town]

[This scene is found in Chapter 11 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Wild West Town]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Howdy, mentor! It's so kind of you to volunteer taking a shift as watch-person!

Enrique

I really don't mind being here though. I think this rugged era rather suits me.

Enrique

The climate is dry, fellows in this town are always ready for a spirited rumble, and--aside from a little sand--the elements aren't too rough.

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

I know Cleopatra's done some rotten things, but now that she's securely locked behind bars...

Enrique

I can't say I mind that she's been keeping me up all night--

Enrique

--with her amusing stories, I mean!

Enrique

Did you know she once dissolved a priceless pearl in vinegar, just for a bet???

Enrique

I'm willing to bet she's as crafty as they come, and learning a thing or two from her might give the Time Society a tactical advantage!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

I'm glad Richard doesn't have to take any shifts with Cleopatra.

Alistair agreed it would be for the best if Richard didn't have to be around her and her toxic words. Out of sight, out of heart...I hope!

scene 4 - Totter for Elephants

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Maybe going somewhere really fun...

...will help Richard take his mind off of Cleopatra! I should remind Richard how much fun we were having before that pesky ex of his returned.

[Travel to Traveling Circus]

[This scene is found in Chapter 39 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Traveling Circus]

part 1 [before scene]

Lulu

Hey Richard! I thought we could take advantage of the circus being in town!

Richard

I'm not so sure that I--

Lulu

I want to learn about the difference between an African Elephant and a European elephant!

Richard

...

Richard

Sure, Lulu. Why don't you go buy us some tickets, and then we'll go see the elephants do some tricks.

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

I know Lulu's been trying to cheer me up.

Richard

I'll admit that seeing her face light up when she learns something new--something even as simple as the fact that koala bears aren't really bears--

Richard

--that's enough to warm even my frigid heart, here and there.

Richard

It's just like her to assume that a childhood delight such as the circus will put a smile on my face.

Richard

But the kid has surprised me before...Maybe she'll be right!

outro [back in garden]

Richard

I don't blame you for excusing yourself.

I can understand if an evening at the circus isn't your cup of tea. Our lives as Time Agents are enough of a circus already!

scene 5 - All Good with the Hood

intro [in garden]

Enrique

Megan's trip to Turkey reminded me about something.

Since she's back and on guard duty over Cleopatra, I think I'll take a little break to visit an old friend.

[Travel to Prince John's Table Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 39 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Prince John's Table Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Enrique

Oh no! Of course, I wasn't referring to that rotund English tyrant.

Enrique

I meant that I needed to check up on Robin Hood!

Enrique

I want to make sure that the dear folks of Nottingham are still being looked after.

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

The Time Society has whisked me away to some grand but perilous excursions...

Enrique

...but I don't want to feel as if I abandoned this medieval town.

Enrique

Oh yes! Everything is perfectly fine.

Enrique

I assure you, there's no need to worry about me, love!

Enrique

But if something *were* to ever happen to me, I just want to make sure that those kind peasants will still be cared for by good ol' Robin.

outro [back in garden]

Enrique

I've got another little project in the works as well.

This one is a little closer to home. Don't worry...I'll tell you about it soon enough!

scene 6 - The Circle of Strife

intro [in garden]

Megan

I just had one of my shifts keeping a close eye on Cleopatra.

Can you believe she had the nerve to try to recruit me??? Why do I feel like we've already gone down this path before?

[Travel to Maasai Village]

[This scene is found in Chapter 32 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Maasai Village]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

Oh yes! Now I remember: It's because we *have* gone down this path before...with Julius Caesar!

Alistair

Has Cleopatra been trying to recruit you, as well? Other members of the team have also reported as such.

Alistair

We all know that Cleopatra and Caesar had a history together...

Alistair

...but that doesn't explain why they want our Time Agents to travel through history with them.

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Clearly Cleopatra has managed to master manipulating temporal energy already.

Alistair

So what would she possibly have to gain by recruiting any of us???

Megan

What she said on the Titanic...about wanting to use time travel to stop history's greatest tragedies...

Megan

Do you really think that's what she's trying to do?

Alistair

Not for a second! That conniving woman may be convincing to some, but I'm entirely immune to her tricks.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I'll never believe that nonsense.

There's no way the woman who threw Eleanor and Geoffrey in the middle of a jousting tournament could suddenly be on a crusade to change history for the better.

scene 7 - Panic Tomb

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I know Quincy asked to be left alone.

But I wouldn't mind if you checked up on him. You seem to always have the right approach when colleagues are feeling down.

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Oh! I wasn't expecting to see you here.

Quincy

To tell you the truth, I haven't had much success trying to reverse my mistake with Eleanor's Time Machine access.

Quincy

Nothing I've tried has been able to render enough temporal energy to override the security protocol!

Quincy

I'm afraid I've just about run out of ideas...save for one.

Quincy

I ask that you not follow me while I go retrieve something.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

What seems like an eternity ago, I hid something very precious in a secret hole within these tombs.

Quincy

When I first acquired it, I had no idea what I would do with such a thing in my possession.

Quincy

But then something changed in my life--and in *me*. And suddenly I knew what purpose I had been saving this item for all along.

Quincy

Sadly, however, I am not so sure that purpose is an option anymore.

Quincy

I'm sorry, but I really should not say any more.

Quincy

I better be getting back to my workshop, if you don't mind.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Please don't mention my hiding place...

...or anything I've just said, to the rest of the Society. I am counting on you to keep my secret safe.

CHAPTER 40 – QUITTING COLD TURKEYEdit

scene 1 - Springing Forward

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I'm interested in getting your thoughts on something.

Let's go somewhere quiet. I hear Pamukkale is agreeable at any time of the year!

[Find 6 differences in Pamukkale Springs Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

I've been visiting Eleanor as often as I can.

Alistair

She's seemed in high spirits, given the circumstances. I admire her strength in that regard.

Alistair

But I haven't forgotten that we left her there for a reason:

Alistair

She clearly went against the laws of our Society.

Alistair

Now, my question to you is the following: Do you think she's reformed?

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

I'm quite glad that you're in agreement!

Alistair

Eleanor knows that what she did was wrong, and I don't believe she poses a threat to the order of the Time Society any longer.

Alistair

And I don't imagine that she would ever try to change the past again, even if she could leave Vegas.

Alistair

Vegas is quite an intriguing place, I dare say.

Alistair

Reminds me of our gardens, in a way: A city full of miniaturized versions of artifacts from throughout time and space.

Alistair

It's a microcosmic version of world-travel, and I am hoping that provides some comfort to Eleanor.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Thanks for the chat.

I know you can be counted on as quite the rational one within our little group, and your support is quite valuable.

scene 2 - Getting Back on Tracks

intro [in garden]

Richard

Lulu and I are going to the races.

Finally, an event where I won't be worried about Lulu's little feather fascinator blocking the view of anyone behind us!

[Return to Derby Day]

[This scene is found in Chapter 27 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Derby Day]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

Hello, Richard. I was wondering if I might have a word.

Richard

I know how much you like the smell of horses, Alistair, but to what do I owe this visit? Lulu's off placing a bet, so we'll have a few minutes of privacy.

Alistair

I was wondering if I might get your *professional* opinion on Eleanor. And whether or not you believe her suspension should be lifted?

Richard

Well, I don't suppose it matters, given that Quincy has prevented her from ever using the Time Machine again.

Richard

But I do think Eleanor is sorry about her attempt to bend the rules.

Richard

And believe me, a mistake like that is not the sort of thing you make twice.

part 2 [after scene]

Richard

Group get-togethers aren't necessarily my favorite afternoon activities...

Richard

...but if you don't mind waiting, Lulu will be back shortly and you can get her insights on the matter as well.

Alistair

No, I don't believe that's necessary. I know dear Lulu prefers tending roses over matters pertaining to management.

Richard

Very well. But for the record, I think anyone quick to dismiss Lulu as insignificant is a fool.

Richard

That kid can read people, and I'm sure she'd have something to say about Eleanor's reformation.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

I certainly didn't mean to offend Richard.

He was awfully quick to jump to Lulu's defense. Do you recall when those two began to get so close?

scene 3 - Turkey Jerky

intro [in garden]

Megan

Quincy is in Turkey, too?

I hope I don't run into him while I am there. That would be terribly awkward, given the circumstances. We haven't exactly spoken since...well, you know.

[Travel to Hagia Sophia Interior]

[This scene is found in Chapter 40 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Hagia Sophia Interior]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

What are you doing here???

Quincy

I specifically took personal leave so I didn't have to make small talk with anyone, while trying to focus on the whole Eleanor debacle.

Quincy

It doesn't help my productivity to have someone constantly checking in on me to see if I'm okay.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

Umm...Sorry about that outburst. I should not have been so irritable.

Quincy

Forgive me?

Quincy

It's just that, well, things aren't going so well on my end. If you must know.

Quincy

I'm still racking my brain for another solution to overriding the security protocol that is blocking Eleanor from time travel.

Quincy

I know I told you I have one thing that ought to work...

Quincy

...but if I use it for this purpose...I'll be giving up on what hope I had for a bright future for myself.

Quincy

I'm not exactly the most optimistic fellow, but I had plans. Happy plans.

Quincy

And it's still difficult for me to accept that those plans won't be coming to fruition.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

I'm not trying to sound mysterious.

It's just that I've never really talked with anyone about my dreams before. Maybe I don't know how to.

scene 4 - A Show of Helping Hands

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I've made my decision...

...and I am heading to Vegas to tell Eleanor about it. You can come along, if you'd like. I'm sure she'd appreciate the support.

Eleanor

Why hello! I am always glad to have visitors!

Eleanor

You two, and Megan, have been so good about reminding me that I am not so very alone out here.

Alistair

Yes! In fact, that's just what I came to speak with you about, Eleanor.

Alistair

My dear old friend, I know that you have gone through some difficult times lately. And I didn't always agree with your choices...

Alistair

...but I believe you've learned from those mistakes, and grown into a stronger person.

part 2 [after scene]

Eleanor

These are kind words, indeed. But what exactly are you trying to tell me, Alistair?

Alistair

I'm telling you that I am lifting your suspension. Eleanor Lansing Purlieu, I am officially reinstating you as a member of the Time Society.

Eleanor

  • Gasp* But Alistair, I can't--

Alistair

You may not be able to travel with us, but the Time Society is more than just a group of people who can move through time and space.

Alistair

We're a family, and there's no reason why you shouldn't be a part of it.

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

It's so nice to see Eleanor smile again.

After everything that happened surrounding Geoffrey's death, I was afraid that she never would.

scene 5 - Homer Alone

intro [in garden]

Megan

I heard the news!

Of course, I'm incredibly happy Eleanor's been reinstated. I just wish there was more that could be done about her situation with the Time Machine.

[Travel to Inside Troy Paradox]

[Find 6 differences in Inside Troy Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

I, for one, have not been standing idly by regarding Eleanor being stuck in Vegas.

Megan

If my time with Quincy has had one lasting benefit, it's that I learned a great deal from him about the technological intricacies of time travel.

Megan

And if there's a way to reverse that security protocol...

Megan

...I'm going to do my best do find it.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

I've already started doing a little research on the matter.

Megan

If I am understanding the documentation correctly, the key thing that we need is temporal energy. A whole lot of it.

Megan

That doesn't seem too complicated, so I must be missing something.

Megan

Let me poke around a bit more, and I'll let you know if I find out anything useful.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Not that it's any of my business, of course...

...but I noticed in the travel logs that Megan was poking around in the ancient city of Troy. Do you happen to know what she was doing there?

scene 6 - The Biggest Apple

intro [in garden]

Alistair

If you don't mind...

...I was wondering if you might accompany Enrique to Japan? I've sent him to do a routine clean-up there but I've been a little concerned about the chap lately.

Enrique

Why hello, mentor! I'm quite glad that you've come to lend a hand!

Enrique

Umm...not that this assignment is anything I can't handle myself, of course...

Enrique

But my understanding is that Mount Fuji is about to blow!

Enrique

So the sooner we set things back into order, the sooner we can leave!

part 2 [after scene]

Enrique

Great! All done! Now let's get out of here.

Enrique

Oh, I quite agree that the Edo period is a fascinating part of Japanese history!

Enrique

Normally I'd love a good walk among the sakura blossoms, but I'm just not in the mood.

Enrique

Even I can just not be in the mood sometimes--Okay???

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Everyone has their right to feel uncomfortable around an active volcano...

...but considering Enrique's typically debonair character, it seems unusual that he'd get so squeamish. Do you think something else is the matter with him?

scene 7 - The Real Folklore Blues

intro [in garden]

Megan

Maybe I was being overly optimistic.

I want so badly to help get Eleanor back to Time Manor, but all I've been able to learn is that it seems more impossible than ever.

[Travel to Turquoise Coast]

[This scene is found in Chapter 40 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Turquoise Coast]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

I was right about needing a lot of temporal energy...

Megan

...but nothing in the Time Society's archives, or otherwise, seems capable of generating such a force!

Megan

There is one myth that I came across while I was researching temporal energy sources.

Megan

But it's completely absurd!

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

I found some notes scribbled in a workbook...

Megan

...about a tiny crystal containing a highly concentrated, incredibly condensed, burst of temporal energy.

Megan

Supposedly, it contains more than enough energy to override any system within our network of time-manipulating devices.

Megan

But the notion that any sort of crystal, big or small, could be converted into temporal energy--that's just ridiculous!

Megan

Am I right?

outro [back in garden]

Megan

I do remember Quincy mentioning something...

...about how he thought Cleopatra had access to absurd amounts of such energy. But how could I possibly get her to tell me where she is keeping it???

CHAPTER 41 – DOUBLE, DOUBLE TIME’S IN TROUBLEEdit

Thanks for coming with me, Sweetie.

Lulu

I didn't want to ask Richard to come because I was worried he might think I'd gone loopy!

Lulu

But I swear, I saw a ghost!

part 2 [after scene]

Lulu

Did you see that?

Lulu

Now do you believe me???

Lulu

Let's get out of here. This place is giving me the heebie-jeebies!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

Scotland is haunted!

I thought we'd seen some pretty strange things before--being time travelers and all--but I'd never seen a real live ghost before!

scene 2 - The Truth Sinks In

intro [in garden]

Megan

I'm going back to the Titanic.

I know it may seem dangerous, but I promise I'll be careful.

[Return to Marconi Room]

[This scene is found in Chapter 36 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Marconi Room]

part 1 [before scene]

Megan

I know Quincy added an extra protocol to our system to ensure that we can get out of here safely.

Megan

Although, we know now that even Quincy's work is not completely reliable all the time.

Megan

But nevermind that...It's all in the past.

Megan

I'm here because I need to find out if Cleopatra left behind some kind of temporal energy source before we captured her.

Megan

I'm going to poke around with the scanner.

part 2 [after scene]

Megan

NOTHING. Of course! Because finding what I needed would have just been too easy--RIGHT?!

Megan

Sorry. I didn't mean to yell.

Megan

It's just...if only I could find where Cleopatra was getting such a big stash of temporal energy!

Megan

I could override Quincy's error, and Eleanor could leave Vegas!

Megan

And I guess deep down, I care so much because Eleanor is a woman who was willing to do anything for the man she loved.

Megan

And that story should have a happier ending than it has so far.

outro [back in garden]

Megan

Back safe and sound.

But not any closer to helping Eleanor. I may be running out of ideas, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up.

scene 3 - Hideout and Seek

intro [in garden]

Alistair

Enrique has been behaving strangely...

I know you've noticed, too. I think I should sit down with him and find out why he's been troubled lately.

[Travel to Sherwood Forest Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 41 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Sherwood Forest Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Alistair

Blast, I was hoping I'd find him here.

Alistair

Well, since we're here and it's nice and quiet in these woods...

Alistair

...is there anything on your mind that you'd like us to chat about?

part 2 [after scene]

Alistair

Ghosts?! So, you and Lulu saw ghosts in Scotland, have you?

Alistair

This is serious, indeed!

Alistair

I think this means that we need to get an expert to look into the matter!

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

You mean that Alistair knew ghosts were real all along???

What did I tell you, Sweetie...We're not losing our marbles after all!

scene 4 - Ghosts, Busted

intro [in garden]

Lulu

Who's Alistair gonna call?

Does being a Time Agent also involve traveling to haunted places? I sure hope I never have to go on such scary assignments by myself...

[Travel to Inveraray Castle]

[This scene is found in Chapter 41 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Inveraray Castle]

part 1 [before scene]

Chauncey

Greetings, fellow investigators!

Chauncey

I'm Chauncey McNichols, paranormal enthusiast and emissary to the outer fringes of time and space!

Lulu

Chauncey! You're the ghost expert??? I never knew!

Chauncey

Now see here, youngsters! You've got it quite a bit wrong. You see, there's no such thing as ghosts!

Chauncey

The fact of the matter is, what may look like ghosts to regular folks is in actuality a temporal entanglement!

part 2 [after scene]

Chauncey

Think of time as a big ball of yarn. Or a series of tubes!

Chauncey

Every now and again a couple different points in time get a little tangled...

Chauncey

...and glimpses of one of those points can be seen from the other!

Chauncey

I reckon what you youngers saw in that dining hall were glimpses of its past...

Chauncey

...and it happened to be a point in time where a past inhabitant of this splendid living establishment was going about her life in that very spot!

Chauncey

But if you two are still frightened, I'll go have a look about inside on my own.

outro [back in garden]

Lulu

So, a little glitch in time...

...allowed us to see into that castle's past? Don't worry, Sweetie! I won't tell anyone how scared you were!

scene 5 - Pirates Boo Tea

intro [in garden]

Chauncey

Salutations, youngster!

Remember when I told you not to worry about that little window into the past that you and Lulu found? Perhaps it might be well for you to forget I said that...

[Travel to Tortuga Tavern]

[This scene is found in Chapter 16 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Tortuga Town]

part 1 [before scene]

Chauncey

I say! After the adventure I've just had, I could certainly use a strong drink. Lapsang souchong, please!

Megan

I don't think they serve tea here, Chauncey...

Chauncey

No tea? Why would anyone choose to have a meeting at a place with no tea???

Alistair

Chauncey, *you* are the one who called this meeting!

Alistair

You told us it was urgent, and that you made some distressing findings during your recent trip to Scotland!

Chauncey

Oh! Right you are, Alistair! Sharp as a fiddle!

part 2 [after scene]

Chauncey

You see, I was poking about in Inveraray Castle, to investigate the little temporal glitch that Lulu found.

Chauncey

But upon closer inspection...

Chauncey

I was able to determine that the glitch was probably not just a mish-moshing of two different points in the castle's history...

Chauncey

...but perhaps, maybe, could have been a little smidge of an alternate timeline getting confuddled with ours!

Megan

Alternate timeline? But that would mean--

Alistair

Someone's tried to go back in time to change history!

outro [back in garden]

Alistair

Chauncey didn't sound entirely certain there...

...but we're going to need to investigate. If he's right, we need to find out who's been meddling with the past!

scene 6 - A Crown of Giethoorns

intro [in garden]

Alistair

I know Quincy wants to focus on helping Eleanor.

But Chauncey's hypothesis requires Quincy's immediate attention. If someone is tampering with history, he ought to know about it right away.

[Travel to Giethoorn Village]

[This scene is found in Chapter 41 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 12 hidden objects in Giethoorn Village]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Hello, there. I presume you've come to check on me again? Before you say anything...

Quincy

...I just want to say that I'm grateful for all the cheering up you've been trying to do, even if it hasn't worked a single bit.

Quincy

But I have made my decision. There's just no other way.

Quincy

Did you just see--? Hmm...I thought I heard something strange. But I'm probably just tired.

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

You see, long ago, I was left a gift by a highly distinguished member of the Time Society:

Quincy

A very small Time Crystal, no larger than the sort of stone you'd wear on a ring.

Quincy

And the irregular amount of temporal energy it entails is just what I need to help Eleanor.

Quincy

But the reason I was delaying this solution was, well...

Quincy

I had hoped to have the stone set in a ring. To give to Megan...when I asked her to marry me.

Quincy

I'll have you know, things were truly going quite well before Cleopatra came around and muddled them up!

Quincy

I know Megan won't even speak to me now, but it's still hard to give up the plan I had for this crystal.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Not that it matters...

...but please, don't say a word of this to Megan.

scene 7 - Quincy's Chemical Romance

intro [in garden]

Megan

I really hope that Chauncey is mistaken.

That's a possibility, right??? But someone should probably update Quincy just in case. Could you do it?

[Travel to Merlin's Lab Paradox]

[This scene is found in Chapter 41 of the Time Machine.]

[Find 6 differences in Merlin's Lab Paradox]

part 1 [before scene]

Quincy

Not very many folks know about Time Crystals at all. Or at least, they're not supposed to!

Quincy

And there is hardly any documentation of such a powerful Time Crystal as the one I'm about to use.

Quincy

What if this is the last one of its kind?

part 2 [after scene]

Quincy

It's done. I've activated the process of converting the Time Crystal into temporal energy.

Quincy

The highly concentrated burst will override the security protocol that's blocking Eleanor from our equipment.

Quincy

Then, I'll be able to re-authorize Eleanor's time signature, and she'll be able to use the Time Machine once more.

Quincy

I know that Megan really cares about Eleanor.

Quincy

By using up the Time Crystal in this way, I suppose at least I can still make Megan happy...

Quincy

...even if her happiness doesn't involve being with me.

outro [back in garden]

Quincy

Everyone else is in Scotland, you say?

Why don't you go join them. I'll let Eleanor know she should head there when she can. It'll be a lovely surprise for the rest of the group.
